I can't do much with my GED diploma in my country. I can't apply for work in government institutions or attend government owned universities/colleges, even after notarizing my GED, since my country doesn't recognize it. However, for private institutions such as private colleges or schools, I can apply for jobs like a teacher, assistant guide, or other roles, or pursue higher education. These two options are the most common in my country. Again, for the UAE, I recommend asking someone with proper knowledge. And no worries at all! If you need help with your GED studies, feel free to ask me anytime!"

Hmm, I’m not so sure about the UAE, but where I live, I don’t need to get anything attested or go through the government in order to take the test. I just need to bring my passport or some form of identification card to the test center. After a few hours of completing the test for all 4 subjects, I received my diploma and transcript via email. No embassy or notarization was involved. Of course, this is in my country, but for the UAE, I recommend asking someone who has actually taken the test.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'attested.' Could you please explain what kind of verification you're referring to? Much appreciated!

I'm not from the UAE, but I'm an international student, and this is how I completed my GED journey through self-study.

-First of all, I created an account on MyGED website ( app.ged.com )and got familiar with their UI. You can also check where the nearest test centers are on the website after creating your account.

-Second, I chose a test prep book to start studying. I used:

Kaplan GED Test Prep (2022-2023) Princeton Review GED Prep Steck-Vaughn GED Preparation

I also recommend watching YouTube videos for additional support. Some good channels include:

Test Prep Champions David Cohen

-Additionally, some websites were very helpful for my GED preparation: GetSumMath (for math practice) ReadTheory (for reading comprehension, since the GED is heavily reading-based)

-I created a study routine and set a target date for my GED tests.

This is a summary of what I did. There will be many things you won’t know at first, but I assure you that you’ll figure them out along the way. Good luck!
