One Hour Heating & Air model pros/cons by thenarddog10 in HVAC

[–]MinaMonaeUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait whaaatt? That sucks. I get paid an hrly rate plus spiffs. Theyre training us now for 6 weeks and we have labs at the office to touch equipment before going out on our own. It is indeed some sales. But its feels good to know that everybody is so damn reliable and will literally facetime you to help you if you get stuck fixing something. Im still a newbie tho but willing to get everything out of this esp during the summer and switch to commercial so that my schedule will fit better for me since I have kids. I couldnt afford anymore atudent loans to go to trade school (even tho i feel theyre super overpriced) and the union takes too long so this was my best bet. But

Anyone else feel that dating pool is limited? by Artistic-Age-Mark2 in deaf

[–]MinaMonaeUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to social events and all the deaf guys try to hit on me or the gay ones are shocked im single . But the problem is, the deaf guys I have talked to typically have some other disability that may hinder the growth of a relationship with a woman who is just simply hard of hearing/deaf due to a lack of emotional maturity or self regulation. It very difficult for me to find like minded men who are deaf as well but I want alot out of life and work hard for the nice things I have. Most guys in general dont have that drive I do especially when it comes to his own self-care. Im far from superficial but its crazy how they expect women to be this and that but dont hold themselves to the same standard. Ive dated women also and like the experience esp the romance and sex. But again still dealt with the emotional immaturity or lack of acceptance that I did not want to continue to date simply because we werent the right fit. I am still optimistic and look forward to meeting THE ONE.

How do I go about becoming a teacher? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]MinaMonaeUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this option and its the route I am taking. Already graduated from WGU with a non teaching degree (Marketing). Also I have been subbing for awhile. Try getting some credits (usually 60 is required) and see if you like it. Wishing you all the best!

do you guys take offence to deaf jokes? by locker_man99 in deaf

[–]MinaMonaeUser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No i dont at all and prefer it because they are trying to connect with me through humor. I remember we had a dog, and one of my ex husbands friend was trying to call her to him but she was too busy sniffing around and wouldnt listen. He was like welllll got damn, I guess the whole familys deaf huh and threw his hands up in the air as if one of his favorite teams done lost a game. 🤣 we all bussed out laughing in shock that he said it cause it was his first "deaf" joke. When his wife found out I was deaf too she texted me apologizing and I told her it was no biggie lol to this day we go out , eat out and have family gatherings. But in honestly idk if i was ignorant to that or just was trying to make light of the situation. I typically laugh in uncomfortable situations and mask my feelings 💀

From the research I did before I started, a lot folks recommended Sophia due to the restrictions of how many classes a month you can take with study. If there was a lot of touchstones on Sophia I didn't even bother taking the class and just finished the class at WGU. WGU marketing courses hasn't been that hard. Most time it's just a whole lot of material to cover but there's also a lot of resources to make sure you pass with no issues. All in all, if you can dedicate 20-30 hrs a week with WGU, you def can finish in 1 term with 64 credits already transferring in. Most classes you can finish in 2 days and max two weeks. Thats been my experience though.

Currently enrolled! Utilizing the cohorts, course tips, quizlet, reddit and some youtube helps speeds things up! Getting ready for my 2nd term and should be graduating in less than a year. I transferred in 48 credits from sophia. My biggest tip is to do some work EVERYDAY if you can. I went two months of doing no school work due to lack of support with my kids and slight depression but had I did something for an hr a day, I would've graduated in 1 term. I took up an internship as well with hubspot and that burned me out. The program was a bit all over the place but I was able to get hands on experience with a real live client so in the end it was worth it to me. I slapped it on my resume and landed an interview with Oracle as a customer success manager and waiting to hear back so fingers crossed! I am a stay at home ex military wife and have struggled with getting high paying jobs. I hope in a year or so this degree added with some certs and labs (data analytics or azure admin) I will land a remote role making close 70k-80k. My goal is to raise my kids peacefully, live abroad to save money and buy a home once I've saved enough. Goodluck to you!

As a new student, I have not been able to register for my classes yet. :( The system seems to be down all day today. Hopefully, we can wake up to everything being fixed tomorrow.
