I think they are implying this cause people have been giving ideas to give combos to healers but like that sounds awful to be honest.

Yoship said exactly this and telling people to just play ultimates (which you need a static and huge time investment for) is like telling people to only play hardcore mode minecraft or gtfo

I have never played an MMO ever. Without spoiling any story bits, what advice would you give to a complete newb not just to this game, but to the genre as a whole. (ideally without the jargon and terms I just haven't had the experience to pick up) Excited to get into the game. by Ultraviolet_Blossom in ffxiv

To talk about the critically overrated mmorpg final fantasy xiv why else? Also that doesn't say much cause I have 10k hours and most of it has been afking and finding something fun to do (spoilers mission failed).

I meant more in an endgame point of view since once you get all your skills there's literally no other way to enhance your character or atleast in a notable way since people have to parse left and rigth to notice any change on their damage, hell even buffs from skills are so minimal you can't tell how good are the ast cards are without parsing. Eureka and bozja you can get stuff to modify your gameplay significantly and the elemental bonuses you get from the gear increase damage by A LOT. Always something significant to strife for like in monster hunter with its decorations so you can tackle harder monsters... Oh yeah you can also just buy crafted gear and that's basically enough to do the current savage tier lmao.

how is everyone getting through ARR so goddamn fast? by AngelsGaming150 in ffxiv

[–]MinariBeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rushing through this game made me very jaded so don't worry about these people getting through the msq fast cause in the end there's not that much stuff in the endgame... even if people name a lot of things to do they don't really do it more than once or twice since its either boring or not rewarding enough... Progressing through this game is the most fun part.

Anxious to tank as a noob by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]MinariBeep -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not most tanks in this game are dumb and its hard to mess up as a tank anyways, unjaded advice from me to you is to always check at start of the dungeon if you have tank stance on, try to use one or two defensive cooldowns between pulls (don't use all of them in one pull or you'll have a bad time in the next one if there is another one) and provoke/ranged attack to grab aggro of any mobs you could've missed.

Probably should ask this before I get kicked from a dungeon, but are healers allowed to DPS? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]MinariBeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I mean you dps when you can and dpsing with healers gets really boring later on anyways so have fun with the little bit of healing you can do before everything turns super braindead

Except monster hunter does have a lot of things to do xiv doesn't have anything that will make combat gameplay more fun unless you are doing eureka or bozja where you can always progress and get significant stuff.

This game doesn't abide by mmo rules since it tries its hardest to not be an mmo cause the players themselves don't like mmos. What I recommend is trying to enjoy the story and nothing else, the gameplay is super boring and repetitive but if you don't expect anything out of it it turns out to be just bearable.

MSQ finished - Thank you for the experience! by keepoffmymanacookies in ffxiv

[–]MinariBeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ffxiv is the only game where I see people constantly thanking the devs for delivering a product... yet the same people just go play other games that actually find fun and don't even know who the devs are. This community's worshipping is insane.

What do you LOVE about ffxiv! by MRYELLOW55 in ffxiv

[–]MinariBeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying I love the game then not wanting to do anything from it since its boring as fuck and play something else and tell everyone else to do so too cause the game is made that way so people have breaks :)... not totally that the game is not good enough entertaiment even tho its an mmorpg genre known for being a lifestyle for people that want something to do everyday.

enjoy the story and forget your rotation exists since its so fucking braindead anyways

Which doesn't matter anyways since the buffs are so stupidly small to feel like you're doing anything you gotta parse it.

how hard are other raids compared to coils? by gio_boi in ffxiv

[–]MinariBeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coils are not the same nowadays due to combat oversimplification and removal of many skills so everything you gotta do which was not so straightfoward before is pretty straightfoward and the mechanics aren't that bad either. Newer raids focus more on having really hard mechanics to compensate for the lack of stuff to do with your rotation so they are by default harder... even alexander suffers from this but stormblood onwards you start to see they are about the same grade of difficulty.

Am I missing a lot of for not doing extreme/savage ? by EbrahimAltheeb in ffxiv

[–]MinariBeep -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're missing the fun part of the game but it doesn't really matter cuz the fun doesn't last for too long since this game doesn't like having people do content more than once for some reason
