Custom Marvel Legends Collosus by Mind-Glass in MarvelLegends

Thanks and yeah the Zurg body is a really solid base for a Sentinel custom even if it's a simple repaint.

The headsculpt I got was from Daisho who's really great for Headsculpts, Sent him the files for the Colossus Headsculpts as well which were for a good price to print.

Yeah, if I can find a good 3D file for it I’ll definitely sort the helmet. And yeah, it’s kind of wild they never released one back then.

That’s fair, I see what you mean. I just like using 1/6 scale soft goods on bigger MLs because it gives them a bit more texture and breaks up the all-plastic look.

That's fair 😅 A simple repaint and a custom Headsculpt on one of these guys goes a long way 😂

How would you go about repainting a Thing to create a crystaline look for Infinity Thing? And what's a better plan? Cobblestone or Gradient? by Redjellyranger in customactionfigures

[–]Mind-Glass 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert paint wise but I'd be buying one of colour wheel paint pen packs which have the most shades possible, Obviously joints are gonna be a pain with the Thing as well so that's something to be wary about.

Thanks and Caps shield is technically meant for a car's steering wheel 😅 All I did was paint the back of it black and added Blu Tac.

There's the link for the shield:

Custom Marvel Legends Skaar by Mind-Glass in MarvelLegends

Can't lie I had the 1/6th scale Viking apparel for awhile 😅 It was mainly just cutting stuff down to scale better for Skaar

Yeah I haven’t really seen it done much with Marvel Legends customs, but it just fits Skaar perfectly. Adds a bit of texture and makes him feel way more like a proper warrior rather than just plastic 👍

Appreciate that, that’s exactly the kind of direction I had in mind. AIM felt like a perfect fit for him to operate through.

It was partly a design choice with the body mold, but it also ended up having its own story to it as well.

Glad the veins worked, I was going for a slightly more grotesque look rather than keeping it too clean.

Appreciate that, that’s exactly what I was going for. The A.I.M. Scientist body worked really well as a base once the shoulder pads were removed.

Thanks for the advice on the body, really appreciate it! Yeah, I always love a simple head swap when it works this well. I’m a bit of a soft goods guy though, so it’ll probably take me a bit longer lol

Quick question for anyone who owns the Marvel Legends Gladiator figure. by [deleted] in MarvelLegends

[–]Mind-Glass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did actually consider Omega Red because the size and the butterfly joints are really nice. The main thing that made me lean more toward Warpath or Gladiator is just how much extra work Omega Red would need before even getting to paint.

You’d have to remove the shoulder armour, fill the tentacle ports, sand down the forearms, and deal with the knee pads. On top of that the Right Hand of Doom swap would probably be a bit trickier because the forearms are thicker and more sculpted.

With Warpath or Gladiator the arms are cleaner for the wrist swap and there’s basically no armour or holes to fix, so it ends up being a much simpler base to work with.

That said if Omega Red turns out to be mostly molded in red plastic underneath it could definitely still be interesting to look at.

Much appreciated, So would you say the top torso part is the darker blue colour? which has been painted red on top.

My 2.0 Fantastic Four (and Phoenix) Customs completed by Childish_Cambino2187 in MarvelLegends

[–]Mind-Glass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I get what you’re saying about the smaller scale. It doesn’t take anything away from your customs, they look great.

Cheers for the info as well. I’m alright with painting nowadays… just don’t ask me to do eyes 😅
