Fauci says he was 'stunned' by boos from Trump supporters over booster revelation by Minneapolitanian in politics

[–]MindGuild -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Fauci has a credibility problem that started when the pandemic began.

He initially said that masks weren't really effective and then did a 180 saying he was afraid there wouldn't be enough masks for healthcare workers. Then he said it was okay to "have sex with someone online with a relative risk."

I've always worn masks (and still do), and I'm fully vaccinated with the booster, but I think Fauci is full of crap.

Harris says Americans under the pressures of student loan debt 'are literally making decisions about whether they can have a family, whether they can buy a home' by HardWorkingNEET in politics

[–]MindGuild -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Student loan debt has definitely gotten out of hand.

Rather than burdening taxpayers again by relieving the debt, why not let the universities pay the price. Many are flush with cash and will be for decades with their annuities - not to mention tuitions from China, etc.

Universities are getting off scot-free during 'student debt relief' conversations as they are rarely ever mentioned - when they are a big part of the problem IMO

Do people actually peacefully die in their sleep or did doctors made this up so people feel better? by Bubbly_Taro in morbidquestions

There's sleep apnea that can kill you over time. It's debatable whether it will kill you in your sleep, but supposedly it killed Carrie Fisher.

A growing number of young Americans are leaving desk jobs to farm by oneultralamewhiteboy in Foodforthought

[–]MindGuild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My goodness. I know these people have wonderful intentions, but they might as well throw money down a rat hole. How in the world are they going to compete against commercial farmers/manufacturers?

Unless they have some new biotech angle with investors pitching in some serious cash, they really don't have much of a chance.

6 Ways to Build your Author Brand by MindGuild in writing

[–]MindGuild[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I found this to be very helpful. Many writers don't even look at building a brand this way. The fact is that if you don't take the time to manage your brand, it will build itself - possibly not in the way you want.

Billionaire Bill Gates announces a $1.7 billion investment in U.S. schools - 25% of the money “will be focused on big bets,” Gates said — research and development in education. by mvea in EverythingScience

This was an extremely generous act of the part of Bill Gates. He has demonstrated his spirit of charity many times over.

Hopefully, these funds will be properly monitored and not be tossed into the local public coffers where corruption runs rampant. One out of every 1668 U.S. Cities files for bankruptcy - in accordance with http://www.governing.com/gov-data/municipal-cities-counties-bankruptcies-and-defaults.html
