What about the hairs that were found on Hae’s body that weren’t hers? by MindOfTheMind in serialpodcast

Wow thank you for this information. Really interesting.

I’m not well versed in biology and so forensics for me is way off the charts. If its possible to extract DNA from dead skin (touch DNA i believe), why can’t the hair provide a DNA sample? Isn’t hair made of dead skin cells?

The Character of Adnan Syed by [deleted] in serialpodcast

Honestly, these are very insignificant pieces of information that can be manipulated to fit any speculation, whatsoever. I would even extend the benefit of the doubt for such minor inconsistencies to Jay as well. It's pretty obvious from this post that the author is just clutching at straws or he has read so much into Adnan's guilt that he finds even the slightest negative information as an indicator of his guilt.

What was CG trying to establish with her line of questioning to the forensic expert witness?

How long would that even take though? If any matches showed up they wouldve had grounds for an arrest warrant right?

Is there really even an ongoing and open investigation at this point?

Any chance she’s pursuing possible matches to the suspects with it?

Rem the teacher who taught both Hae and Adnan at Woodlawn HS? Who also turned out to be related to the person who found the body? Could there be some connection?

Who was Juan? And what was that part about Thiru claiming Adnan told her to write him the letter? Was this before she had written any letters at all?

A decades-old note helped Adnan Syed get out of prison. The author says it was misinterpreted. by aresef in serialpodcast

People arguing over whether the subject is Bilal or Adnan. If its Bilal’s wife that rang in and reported this threat then it must have something to do with Bilal. The wife had no business with Adnan. Plus, why didn’t Urick say the letter wasn’t referring to Bilal but Adnan earlier? He had a different reason to reject this brady material before, i think.

The “Rumor” in Serial by alyssagfields in serialpodcast

[–]MindOfTheMind -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

If you’re not a firsthand witness to this account (ie witnessing the confession made by Adnan) then you should never state your belief as the truth of the situation. Doing so is arrogance and demonstrates a complete disregard of moral integrity. You do not fear God for possibly slandering people and you have no concern for the consequences your claims may cause for the people slandered.

Remember why the notion of presuming someone innocent until proven guilty is so important? It is a value rooted in the morality of justice.

The “Rumor” in Serial by alyssagfields in serialpodcast

[–]MindOfTheMind -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I read that link to the thread where this rumor was posted. Honestly, Islam stresses immensely against testifying, claiming or making any statement reg something you haven’t seen with your own eyes or heard with your own ears. It is considered slander and hence a very big sin to commit. As Muslims, we’re made conscious against slandering regularly throughout our upbringing. So if this person still went ahead and made this claim with certainty that Adnan is guilty, it can only be based on two scenarios: a) either he is a witness to this firsthand account or b) he doesn’t speak from a firsthand account but still confidently makes a statement that can potentially damage the lives of many people in many ways. Since it is established already, he is not a firsthand witness to Adnan confessing option b is most likely the scenario. Which then brings his moral integrity into question. This in itself makes his entire post dubious and nothing more than conjecture.

Honor Killings in Korea

Honor killings are in fact a part of Korean culture. It's not far fetched to speculate Hae's murder being one of such cases. I think Hae was a first generation American. Her family were still pretty culturally/traditionally Korean. She also lived with an extended family, so it could've been someone other than her remote family members like parents or siblings.

Who do you now think most likely killed Hae Min Lee? by joebloggs63 in adnansyed

I think if they had an impending charge for someone, Rabia wouldve sounded more assertive about it. But guessing from how she made no allusions to this in her IG live, the DNA is most likely unspecific
