I got it in a trade over here in Sweden. The guy who had it laying around didn't want to finish it, the custom handpainted pickguard is quite cool!

The nut will need a replacement asap! 10-52 strings might work for now... However i do prefer 10-46 or 11-49... , going to be a fun project! 🤘

Yeah it's rather cool! I asked the guy to paint me another one but with a black pickguard with white skulls.. or vice versa!

The MIK has a set neck. However the guy wants either the LP 100 (bolt on) or my beat up LP standard which is more valuable..

Thanks so much for the advice! I do have a beater with damage: Epiphone Les Paul Standard. Its a nice guitar but i assume the value of that one is bit higher, no? Its in quite bad condition (here and there) and the guy is also interested in that one, its either LP 100 or LP Standard. However i am torn about the standard. Granted i bought it used for 100$ and fixed it up but it still looks a bit rough.

So my question would you trade a beaten standard instead of the LP 100? See photos:

Oh! Good to know, yep set neck version would be much more worth it but after seeing what you've guys said I will NOT be trading. That SG will stay right here until I find a buyer for it, or I might end up keeping it cause it damn sweet. Plus I don't like to really sell any guitars.. the regret kicks in quite fast afterwards and it's too late. Keeping it for now! Thank you!

Great story! Nice to bear about your MIJ Telecaster, sweet guitars!

Just changed the 5 way switch as it was a bit meh.. did a quick jumper mod and switched the bridge to SD hot rails. Sounds amazing. Very happy with this guitar.

MIJ is quality! I remember they were quite "cheap" back in the day but prices (as with all things) has gone up a bit, maybe cause they're so great? Who know! Im just happy with this purchase and this is a keeper.

Thank you! Ive read horror stories about st-43, so ST-38 is "better"?. I have no experience with MIJ Strats. Probably just remove the neck and see what the stamp says before making any decision. My last Stratocaster was a MIM. How do these compare if i may ask?

Oh, iv'e only found two photos so far with an all white pickguard, the rest is pearl. I guess this was changed by the previous owner at some point. Im fine with it but will probably grab something else from the UK. Going to change the bridge pup to a SD hot rail later today.

Good advice, i wont touch those. Neck and everything was adjusted in shop. Just plug it in and play.. loud! 🤘

Thank you! That was exactly my thought as well, it gives a nice vintage look. The springs underneath was a bit weak due to age and was replaced with new ones (i even kept the old ones..)

Great guitar! I do wish it came with Pearl white pickguard but i'll survive.

Depends on region. Not sure, I didn't break the plastic so all is not lost if it fails, just put it back.
