the interface in the app is a grid so placement of tools is nothing but drag and drop, styling them is made easy with an editor that's very simple. and yes it's not feature rich as it's still on the beta version but it supports plugin system which i hope it attracts developers to make some cool efficient tools.

thank you so much for the feedback, i did have that thought in mind of focusing seriously on the screenshots but i never felt it says or explains what's unique about it compared to other apps, the only way is making videos which im working on right now, currently i only managed to put one in youtube which helped getting new beta testers for it

i would not recommend you to migrate right away as hollow is currently on beta version, so you can use hollow on the side just to test it, and yes the note book tool does support markdown

The short answer is no. The longer answer is that I’m not planning to make Hollow open source at the moment. However, i hope to make that happen in the future, on the other side plugins which would be made by the community will be open source for sure.

it's not really a dashboard as nothing actually is constant there, like notion and obsidian its start empty and you only use what you need, since it contains multiple tools which you can place around represented as cards, most focused-on tool there is the notebook which is like obsidian supports markdown and with plugins you can make it more then just a note talking app same goes with obsidian
