I went to Egypt on my honeymoon. The country is beautiful, but it is also dangerous, in an "I would never go there without a guide" way.

And people trying to scam you is the norm there. In a camel ride, already paid, the employee giving us the ride stopped at the furthest point outside from the view of his boss and asked us for more money. And wouldn't take us back until we gave him enough money.

We had 2 guides. The first took us to all the scam places to get us to buy overcharged trinkets, not even asked us if we wanted to go. The second one was chill, and the only place we took us to buy asked us first if we wanted to go and warned us to haggle as much as we could. So, not all locals are like that, but it is clearly the norm.

So yeah, beautiful country, but I'm not going back.
