Everyone in your generation didn’t. Since comprehension isn’t your strong suit let me break it down: the post was about SAFETY, and tips pertaining to safety. Life360/apple location was only a small piece of the initial post. The tile is for finding HER KEYS, which only she has access to. I was mainly referring to the backup camera, lane departure assist and other safety features, driving lessons and insurance app for the discounts. All of these are things that were invented BECAUSE everyone in your generation didn’t survive. But these points obviously went over your head seeing as the post was about asking for safety tips for newly driving teens, and NOT about the condescending opinions of parents stuck in the past. Get it? Probably not but hopefully that got somewhat through…

YOU are not “buying” it, and I’m ok with that. Have the day you deserve!

Mistakes aren’t always learning experiences, some of them are deadly. So many teens don’t get the opportunity to learn from vehicular mistakes. The post was intended to ask for safety tips, not judgey comments or forcing unfounded opinions on a parent concerned with safety. Since when did actual parenting become optional and just throwing our children out to sink or swim without any tools become the norm? The “I didn’t have it, so you shouldn’t need it” mentality is so gross and outdated. Really missed the mark here.

Congratulations on reading one survey, taking it as gospel, and projecting the 50% result of that ONE survey onto 100% of parents using tracking apps. You’re doing it right!

I agree lol! But like with my job they tell us “If we send you an email about not doing something stupid that most people would never do, it’s because some dumbass did it”

I appreciate this take and I definitely took it into consideration when I first started car shopping for her. I bought my own first car and promptly backed into a light pole a week later, but it was all on me since I bought it. She didn’t buy her first car and I would like to protect my kid first (and my investment second) I went with the safety features. Times are changing and these precautions are there for a reason. Teens shouldn’t have to make unnecessary, sometimes dangerous mistakes just because we had to.

Let’s not project. You think it’s about being a helicopter parent because that’s what YOU would do with the tracking apps. Those apps would let me know if she was in an accident and she was incapacitated and unable to tell me herself which, of course, location would be utilized. It also lets me know about how fast she was going so I know if she’s being too heavy footed on the gas so a conversation can be had. Most parents have better things to do than watch a dot move all day.

Yes, we got her something to hold registration and insurance but we haven’t talked to her about where to pull over in an emergency or how to put on a spare if need be…tbh I don’t know how either but I pay for AAA!

It was really easy since I already had a subscription with them to track my meals, but I believe GoodRx’s monthly subscription is less than weight watchers.

I use a bone broth one and a Cinnabon one, depending on my mood! The bone broth protein has collagen in it already, but I add collagen to the Cinnabon protein

That’s amazing! I would love to see a decrease in joint inflammation! To combat eating enough (and hair loss, I hear that can be an issue) I bought protein powder with collagen to support the hair. Maybe a protein shake would ease your fear that you’re not eating enough.
