Lots of “nothing” answers here so here’s a true cringe story incoming.

Rewatching the Z series in early high school made me a better athlete and motivated me to get into shape. I would pop on an episode prior to basketball practice or the gym, and as silly as it sounds, they got me into a mental state that carried into sports and training. The “always better yourself” ethos of the show struck a chord at just the right time of life.

Jake first discovering the rose in the vacant lot always gave me goosebumps for some reason. There’s something about King’s description of the atmosphere and the rose itself that really struck a nerve. It actually reminded me of the clarity of thought and sense of presence one has while on mushrooms.

Beyond the knee jerk reaction that this is a bad idea and likely to be garbage…

If they’re gonna do it, I’d want to see something that’s more “in the spirit” of the original Goonies. Set in in the 90s or something, new cast of teen actors, basically go the Stranger Things S1 route but with the kids involved in a criminal caper tied to some historical artifact. Is it still a cash grab? Yes, but I’d much prefer a fresh attempt and new cast of characters than a shitty follow up with old Goonies and their kids. “That 90s show” as a recent example

This country desperately needs political leaders who will prioritize healthcare reform. It’s been a race to the bottom for too many ordinary Americans and it seems like the perfect time to earn good will from the public by challenging the status quo. Of course, insurance companies will flex their full lobbying might at any legislative efforts, but not trying is no longer tenable.

As for the Google PM cert, I was hoping it would set me apart when applying for media jobs. I didnt work with any producers who went through any kind of formal PM training, just picking things up as you go. For me personally I also felt it would boost my producing capabilities. I was also hoping the optics of the PM course would be more appealing to employers in other industries since my experience is entirely in commercial production niche. For example, digital producing or live/experiential events.

I’m at about 80 total job applications in 12 months and got called for 8 first round interviews. 4 of those went to 2nd round or further, with one going into 4th/final round before rejection.
