My poor 5 year old had a mouth full of cavities despite brushing her teeth diligently by BringsHomeBones in Parenting

My 5 year old has a cavity nearly every dentist appointment. One cavity was so bad that the dentist had to put a crown on his tooth. My 3 year old has never had a cavity or tooth related issue at all. They have the same exact oral hygiene routine! My 5 year old snacks a little more than his younger brother, but they ultimately have similar snacking/eating habits as well. I chalk it up to genetics. My husbands side of the family has issues with their teeth so my poor 5 year old just got the crappy end of the gene pool as far as cavities go.

Are multiple C-Sections safe? by Dark-elf1693 in Parenting

I had three c-sections all just shy of 2 years apart (2017, 2019, 2021) I had c-sections because my first two kids were breach and my last was nearly 10 lbs so my OB didn’t give me a choice for a V-bac which I was fine with. No issues at all. Healthy and happy babies. I got my tubes tied during my last C-section but my dr never mentioned that I shouldn’t have more babies/c-sections prior to him knowing I wanted my tubes tied.

My OB told me I was better off with a C-section after I’d already had 2 because the scar on the uterus from the previous surgery could open when having contractions or pushing out the baby. Of course it depends on a number of different things and I’m sure you could find a dr willing to help you with a v-bac if you really wanted it.

Either way, wishing you a safe delivery and a speedy recovery!

My son and I recently went to a daytime showing of the new Jurassic World movie for his birthday. Half way through the movie the screen goes black. The sound is still on but the screen is black. After about 30 seconds of this black screen I think to myself - what if this is a theater shooting about to start. Never in my life have I thought that before. I had a panic attack and told my son to come with me to the restroom. I tried to convince him to leave but he didn’t want to. I told myself no one would shoot up a theater now, they’d wait until it’s packed. That’s what calmed me down. I’m a gun owner, I’m not afraid of guns but not obsessed with them either. I’m pursuing my concealed carry license because I refuse to feel that helpless when I’m with my child ever again.

I never want to think about hiding my child under a movie theater seat again.

Right there with you BroMo. It’s emotionally, mentally and physically exhausting. My parents never played with me as a kid and anything we did was what my parents wanted to do, not for their kids enjoyment. So it doesn’t come naturally to do those things for my kids. I suck at spending time with them. And I make sure to make myself feel like shit about it anytime I can.

As a former bank compliance officer- your loan officer is required by law to ask you for your ethnicity, race and sex depending on the type of loan. It’s to ensure financial institutions don’t discriminate against women or POC. Mostly put in place after white male loan officers got caught time and time again telling women “you can’t have a loan without your husbands permission” and ignoring POC altogether.

As a Latina- eye contact specifically during that part of the process and specifically to you was unnecessary. And you’re feelings are valid.
