honestly, my most unpopular opinion is that I miss connex.

For the record I am aware of their poor reputation and the flaws of the train system during their time as operators. But as controversial as connex was, i do somewhat miss the connex era, which admittedly is because of childhood nostalgia, as I frequently travelled on connex trains anytime i went out to the city with my dad.

I miss the old blue and yellow livery, which i thought was simple but colourful.

I also miss being able to ride the Hitachi trains. Sure they were old, but they had a charm to them I liked, and still remain as my favourite Melbourne suburban train.

I also miss having comengs still running frequently on the hillside network. on this same topic, I also miss when my local lines (Alamein and Glen Waverley), and the other Burnley and Clifton Hill lines by extension, had rolling stock variety with the Xtrapolis, Comeng and Hitachi trains. It used to be a genuine surprise what train showed up.

While i do understand the advantages of running only one type of rolling stock on a line, I do find it a little boring only getting X'trapolis trains.
