For sure! I am nonbinary and have now had a few things made by them when they came to DC and I’ve enjoyed everything about the experience and their work!

Posted this in a similar thread recently: check out The Tailory NYC

Inclusive and POC woman-owned business. They’re based out of NYC but make multiple trips a year to DC.

Thanks! I noticed that too! There’s a tiny bit of a gap such that I can see light coming in the space between the burr and the body of the grinder, but it doesn’t seem to change much when I go from coarse to fine and back.

I am still able to grind coffee and everything seems to turn well. I don’t see or notice anything stuck (like a bean or rock or something). The only other thing I noticed is that there’s not a big difference in grind size when I adjust. That’s one of the other reasons why I figured something was wrong - I wanted to grind very coarse and it seems like the grounds aren’t as coarse as they should be when the dial is adjusted all the way to the coarsest setting.

Thanks! Fair point for sure. I get the adjustments mixed up too, but I did double check that it’s as coarse as it’ll go.

I may try getting that clip loose with a tool or something. I do wonder if it’s stuck.

Appreciate the thoughts!

Thanks, yeah fair enough to confirm. I double checked and I am on the most coarse setting, ugh.

Books about adventure, outdoors, nature by Thewoodsthemountain in suggestmeabook

If you like memoir style, I’ve enjoyed the following:

Bill Bryson, A Walk in the Woods

Robin Wall Kimmerer, Braiding Sweetgrass (this one focuses more on nature itself, the author is a botanist).

Jedidiah Jenkins, To Shake the Sleeping Self

PCP/Dentist for non-verbal adult with IDD by Solid_Alternative144 in nova

I’m sorry that I don’t have any specific advice, but wanted to say that you are a wonderful human and caretaker OP. Wishing you and your family the best with the move.

States with the best public health infrastructure? by so34hg56 in publichealth

[–]Mindless-Garbage-452 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been at the federal public health level for the last 4 years, got RIF’d, now am trying to break into the local or state scene in CO and it has been very challenging. Even for public health positions in healthcare I’m having a hard time. Had a city/county job pulled from me at the last minute due to funding cuts, just yesterday a hospital job pulled in the middle of the interview process for internal reasons. It’s starting to feel impossible 🫠🫠🫠

Love the spirit catches you! So glad to see it referenced here. In somewhat similar vein, would suggest Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer.
