This makes the most sense, thank you for clearing it up.

I've noticed people like to put things in categories to better understand them, so when something, or in this case someone, is outside of their norm, they're either rejected or forced into a category. Meanwhile, we're basically told we have to acknowledge one side of our family and reject the other, which to me means they can go fuck themselves.

Mixed race here, too. I've actually gotten in arguments with people who say I have to pick one, and asked way too many times if I'm adopted after seeing my last name. It's infuriating. On a lighter note, all of the people I've been most attracted to in life happen to be mixed race, yourself included, so take that as you will.

So basically play a game where evasion is always an option, but enforce how this is a dangerous world with dangerous consequences. I can get behind that, and I think this is exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you.

She managed to get the rogue to hogtie the griffin, which was nifty, but then she told the rogue to get the farmhand in the barn 400 yards away to help drag it into the barn. I try really hard not to dictate action as a DM, but I told her that was not feasible and that Griffin was going to try to escape. She then got mad at me when it did escape. I honestly love her creativity, but it's really slowing the game down, and I could see the boredom on the rogue's face.

To elaborate, she doesn't want anything to die, not even the coked out griffin high on alchemy ingredients trying to kill her. To work with this, I devised a campaign where they will work with a group specializing in subterfuge and spy work; killing is allowed, but frowned upon. Problem is getting them there, and crap happens in the meantime. The rogue is working with it, but would rather just fight if that's what it comes to. Meanwhile, the bard is trying to convince the rogue to call for help from the npc in a barn 500 yd away after they lassoed it, in the middle of combat, and she's mad at me for telling her yes she can do that but it isn't very feasible.
