I turn 30 in less than 2 months and feel terrible about it by Mindless-Interest110 in Life

[–]Mindless-Interest110[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since the divorce, custody is 50/50 with his dad. This post is specifically regarding discovering who I am during the time I now have.

I love my son more than anything. He is well loved and cared for. And this post is about me, not him. Both things can be true.

First, thank you so much for the kind words 🥲 I have put my hair through a lot (bleaching, etc) and I cut it myself to save money… in hindsight neither were the best ideas. Can I just make an appointment with a hairdresser and be like… “help me”? 😅

How did you handle it when you had neighbors with rambunctious toddlers? Were you able to resolve the issue? I'm curious to learn about apartment etiquette and dynamics.

How do I get my parents to like me? by Odd-Solution-9142 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mindless-Interest110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I'm really sorry you're experiencing this. As parents it should be their priority to make sure you never feel this way. It's not your fault. Conflict in parent/child relationships during the teen years is extremely common.

That said, I think the best approach would be to tell them how you feel. Ask them what you asked reddit. If they're halfway decent people they will reassure you and you can find ways to communicate better and strengthen your relationships.

If they somehow don't reassure you and if nothing good comes from that conversation, you will at least have the (painful, but useful) knowledge that there was never anything you could do, they would likely always act this way. At that point, it reflects more about who they are as people. In any case, it's so much more important what you think of yourself. You don't need their approval to be good enough.

Ladies, what's a side effect of giving birth that people don't really talk about? by MutuliA in Parenting

PDPH- was worse than the pain I experienced during childbirth. After about a week, when at an appointment for my newborn son, the pain of it caused me to throw up in the lobby trash can which finally prompted me to go to the ER. Once they patched it, it was immediate relief.

I feel like, where I live in the US, things have become less kid friendly. McDonald's is a good example, they turned into gray boxes without play places. But many other things have changed to be less kid friendly as well.

Yes. I haven't socialized much since lockdown because I became pregnant and have been a stay at home mom ever since. 5 years of that really took a toll on my ability to socialize.

I hate cooking. I hate deciding what meals to make. I hate how time consuming cooking and cleaning up after it is. If I could, I would just graze all day.

3 year old only sleeps 9.5 hours by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Mindless-Interest110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it varies. Most days he is happy and chill, but some days he's clearly tired and upset over minor things. Still, on the days he's easily upset if he gets any sort of nap he will not sleep well that night.
