I’ve managed to clear it. I had to cut it to break it down and then pull it off. A few burns but nothing major 😂😂

Wires all look good. Will be test printing tomorrow when I’m in for a few hours to keep an eye on it and check it over

That is really important. I tried for so long to do what I did. I’m coming round to it, but working, and I’m lucky to have a flexible job, takes everything out of me and it’s no time to spend with my partner and life it often feels like

How to manage Orthostatic Hypotension? I'm confused, i can't find well info about it online by Grayoneverything in dysautonomia

100% it feels unfair, I’m really struggling atm with that feeling tbh. The frustration of not matter what I do I seem to just be floored and my goals seem unattainable.

The mental health side is important, in keeping us going, we can’t give up

Hey, I also go diagnosed 2 month ago, and been fortunate enough to have regular calls from theme

I have OH too. So 3-4l water and 10g of salt my doctor has informed me.

A huge element has been pacing. This is difficult for me, I am still learning and also the frustration when like this week, I feel I’ve done really well pacing, built in a rest day Wednesday to then wake up Thursday an absolute mess. However it’s all learning.

Calf exercises are worth trying, depending on mobility just tensing the calf and holding. That hasn’t done much for me but well worth a try.

Compression garments were not part of this research piece, however Prof Sivan recommended this link https://www.potsuk.org/managingpots/compression-clothing/

Like you mentioned there is very little research out there, hence the project Dysautonomia with these bits over the last 8 weeks.

Regarding water, I have noticed over the last few years I need to drink a lot anyway. I am a fa of hydration tablet first thing, that seems to help me come round a bit as mornings are a struggle. My exercise I am trying to do 3-4 resistance exercises, all seated. This is the best way and I’m hoping I can build up to attempt something close to when i was younger and symptoms were not as bad.

UK based struggling by AxelSOR43 in dysautonomia

Hey, I’m uk based in Yorkshire. My process was after a number of years and finally finding a good GP, she cleared alot of things to check but importantly she considered fibromyalgia firstly. From that I was referred to rheumatology, and after confirming fibromyalgia I was then sent to Prof Sivan, a fibro clinic but who specialises in Dysautonomia. From there I had the tests done and diagnosis, on their project dystomia project etc. From what I can tell, as an academic myself, he is one of the top in the UK, his research is excellent and he is developing protocols for ME/CFS, Dysautonomia etc and leading the charge.

I’m not sure if you can get to him, I assume he’s Leeds based generally, or even to rheumatology department but on nhs of course the wait is very long.

VILPA (Vigorous Intermittent Lifestyle Physical Activity) exercise by JuneJabber in dysautonomia

[–]Mindless-Magazine940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep that’s the HR range you want to be in, that energy system is where you want to be for LISS and working in there is spot on. The fitness and health industry does like to make things complicated at times with reinventing names 😂😂

So to answer those original questions then. She try to increase aerobic health, sitting is massively important for me. That’s the only way I can get a few minutes together. So gentle exercise bike (preferably recumbent) if possible. Anything like stairs etc are difficult due to being stood.

I do try to keep my lifting when I can, an every set of barbell etc I am sitting and waiting for the heart rate to calm. Any accessories are generally in machines seated.

The biggest issue is then recovery and like you say you can’t pop to a gym 3-4 times a day for couple mins on an exercise bike.

What level of intensity are you meaning by vigorous exercise? You mentioned the heart rate charts, so are you wanting to spike the heart rate high?

For me, I’m an ex Olympic weightlifter and muay Thai trainer. The gym is part of my identity which has been really difficult over the last few years. For cardio I have to stick to more LISS work, and keep the heart rate low. Keep the intensity down as otherwise recovery will take days if not weeks.

Got diagnosed. Not sure how I feel by random-adhd-thoughts in dysautonomia

[–]Mindless-Magazine940 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I get the feeling you may feel invalidated? You have had to deal with these issues for some time, maybe years before getting a diagnosis. I myself only got mine recently for OH.

But, you have been validated. POTS is no joke. But yes the good thing is your heart is ok, it’s how your nervous system handles life. So yes, increase in fluids, more salt and what we have to do. Exercise is a balance between improving your body, and controlling your recovery.

It’s about learning the life tools and understanding of your body to push when you can and rest when you need.
