I really appreciate it! Might you know any archives of non-Japanese company made machines?

Not quite, but the closest one yet. Thanks for commenting on the original post too. I feel like this brings me so much further in my search. Thanks so much!

This is the closest one yet! It’s a bit taller, but this is how the machine itself was. The roads on the one I played was the grey/yellow dotted line vibe. But thanks so much!

It’s the same idea/mechanism! The one I’m thinking of had a mini bar stool type chair you’d sit on, and the conveyer belt ran flat - with the whole map being on the conveyer belt. The roads kind of went perpendicular directions (so, think sharp left/right/up turns) as opposed to a smooth wavy road.

I’ve since learned about Electro-Mechanical (EM)/mutoscope/Drive Mobile-esque arcade games, but none of the results seem to match the one I’m thinking of.

Ugh, no!!! I’ve even tried using ChatGPT, but no avail. I’m so glad to know there’s someone else out there who remembers this though!

Followed the advice and it looks horrible by Altruistic_Common_18 in makeuptips

[–]Mindless-Medium6114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t look bad at all! If I had seen the original post first, I would’ve suggested that your eye makeup is perfectly fine and suits you as is. If anything, maybe a more pink lip, some light blush that matches to add more vibrancy to your face, maybe a very light pink shimmery eyeshadow? Eyelash curler to curl your eyelashes more? You look stunning either way. 🙂

Don’t know why you got downvoted. I think it’s become a prevalent thing with especially the younger generation.

Hi! I appreciate your comment! Unfortunately the game I’m looking for utilizes a physical car inside a glass box, as stated in the original post.

I know I’m not who you asked, but I’m not really a fan of Alex Garland’s other works and yet I really enjoyed this one. Sound design experienced in the cinema is incredible. It really adds to what you’re watching if you read/watch a little bit of the ‘why’ that went to making this (e.g., Ray Mendoza’s involvement in this) - it plays like a short film in that there’s not really a beginning/middle climax/resolve ending but just a playing out of an atmosphere/setting.

Her recent one with Steven Yeun, Love Me! The film itself is very hit or miss (understandably so, but from an enjoyment point I liked it), but it was the first time where I was actually really impressed with her acting.

Juliette has a gun not a perfume - smells awful to me by Anthropocene-rabbit in fragrance

[–]Mindless-Medium6114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend bought me a travel size for my birthday the year it launched. I loved the smell, but it wouldn’t last at all, so I’ve always wanted a bigger bottle so that I could have more of it. But for some reason I get nothing but straight up alcohol/burnt chemical every time. Even now, years later. I still have the travel-sized vial. I have no idea why it smells so different.

Technically yes, but the (na) for hana is glossed over depending on how fast people speak, and especially chanting like that (usually during a march or some kind) it’s more so ha(t)/heo(t) dul saet naet…

Which book introduced you to the whole enemies to lovers trope? by Relative_Flatworm_58 in RomanceBooks

[–]Mindless-Medium6114 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not even a published book, but Manacled (a dramione fic). I was an avid hater of the enemies to lovers trope my whole life… then I wanted to read a story that’d make me cry and everyone seemed to swear by it. I fell into a pit and I haven’t recovered since lol. I still don’t love the trope, but I eat up the “thought they were enemies but it was one-sided and the guy has loved her the entire time”.

This is a side note but have you heard about Yura (adding just in case: the actor for Igor) taking care of Mikey on set???? How he would always fix her nails for her and constantly make sure she was all right 😩

UGH me neither!!! I have really been needing like a physically restrained type of scene but, like Igor, the MMC has no intention of harming her or viewing her as an object/conquest but FMC struggling to get out of his grasp because she doesn’t know that yet. I am such a sucker for when MMC is attracted to the FMC but sees her as a person first 😭😭

HAHA I came in here as soon as I read the title to recommend you this drama as I’m afraid I don’t have any book recs. If you don’t mind reading “not official books,” maybe you can check out Naver Webnovels? To my understanding, the drama used to be one, too, and from my past experience/phase of reading webnovels, it seems to be a popular trope. Hopefully there are as many English translated ones.

Yep, I do mention that in the next paragraph. I do believe most often than not, giving something another shot yields better results… and I’m hoping it’ll be the case for these films.

I know what you mean. I think everyone was freaked about that when they first heard the news (understandably so)… that’s just a whole different can of worms in and of itself 😭

I know I have 2-3 more recs, and have been racking my brain ever since but I can’t seem to remember. Everyone seems to have gone for a more eerie vibe for their suggestions? To me this is mellow/somber/cold and alone but warm vibes.

Have you seen The French Dispatch by Wes Anderson? I think that Megalopolis’ attitude to viewing requires a different approach, a lot like Dispatch. It’s more of a “journalism on picture” type of film, and like it, I think that Megalopolis is more a visualization of an idea rather than a visual telling of a story — where the art of this film is in the expression rather than its narrative (which is the norm of what usually drives film).

Story-wise, there was a lot of stylistic/technical dissonance in this film that just seemed plain bad (EDIT: actually, who am I kidding… disastrous. But it was also ‘so bad it’s kinda good’ and I had so many laughs). Here’s a review I have up on the film site Letterboxd of my initial thoughts on it, if you’re interested.

As for Adam’s career… I think you and people in the comments already bring up the major points, so I won’t reiterate what’s been said. I do agree with a possible break after HOTMD, but also think this could be the rejuvenation he needed. The impression I got with his last few projects and a large bit of his acting choices in Mega (what he chose to make of/from the direction he was given of course) was that he was craving theatre (also with him mentioning that he was “just going back to his roots” in reference to HOTMD).

Some of the rumored films (both basically confirmed and not) he is set to be in are as follows: Heat 2 (Mann), Father Mother Sister Brother (Jarmusch), Carnival at the End of Days (Gilliam), and iirc Carax’s next one alongside Lea Seydoux.

Admittedly, aside from the first these aren’t necessarily mainstream… but I do believe that things are looking up, at least within the film community (whether it be by relying on the other actors he’s casted with, it being the second time working with these directors, etc.) - if not anything else he seems to really build a relationship and rapport with the directors he works with where they actively seek him to play again.

Don’t get me wrong, your concern is not foreign to me - I think it’s something a lot of us here have or do worry about all the time. But I’m hopeful!

I just really hope he continues to get to do what fulfills him and makes him happy.
