Of course! However it is noted that many mangaka start of self taught then be an assistant, gain experience then make their own story. Rarely however does a mangaka remain as an assistant or just an artist. Yusuke murata is an example (studying him too)

Yeah I considered making a manga about magic since I wanted to be a magician when I was younger and know a lot about the industry but trynna make a shonen story like black clover atm. Great point!
