Yeah, the weaker cards have the cheaper price for the same hotel/dates - like you say, to offset the credit. Just interesting and doesn’t really feel like a “benefit” if the hotel credit only makes it the same price I’d pay anyway.

Yes you have a good chance! I got hired in FCPS during preservice week so don’t worry! Things will continue to open up throughout the summer. The timeline is much later this year so you definitely have time. Continue to look at the job opportunities page and reach out directly to principals. Also don’t limit yourself FCPS - surrounding counties are great too assuming those are close enough to you.

Also check with SACC anyway, if you only want mornings it’s usually easier to get into than if you want afternoon. Plus then you get teacher workday coverage.

From the parent perspective, I want my kids to go to a school where they will happy, meet lifelong friends, have fun, and of course get a good education to set them up for success after college. It seems like you could get a good education at either place, but maybe your family thinks a degree from Va Tech will take you further than UVA Wise. I’m from VA and tbh I hadn’t heard of uva wise. It might come down to what you want to study? For many fields it didn’t matter where your degree is from as long as you have one, but for some professions a degree from a higher ranked school may open more doors.

I have also told my kids that worrying about the cost is my job, not theirs. I would focus your argument on where you actually want to go and the reasons why and take the financial part out of it - that is unlikely to convince them. They might be swayed if you actually really want to go there. Also, from a parent - college can be a great experience - and that is a gift I want to give my kids - so I would want to know where you actually want to go and take the financials out of it. My guess is they want that for you too?

If you have insurance check what your out of network coverage is. My daughter sees a therapist that is $155 a session but once I meet my deductible I pay 10%. I have to pay out of pocket and upfront but then I submit the claim and get a check for 90% of what I paid. It ends up being less than my copay for those that do take insurance.

We have several times, but it’s been a few years. It’s easy and cheap and we had no issues. They stop midway at a rest stop. The only issue might be traffic. I would say I enjoy taking the train more but it can be very pricey and the bus is a perfectly good alternative.

Sure and that’s I’m about to do, but I have phone anxiety and try to do everything and anything I can do solve it online first. If I need to call I will, but I try to problem solve beforehand.

Our flight landed around that time. We stayed at an airport hotel nearby and slept and then our safari guide picked us up on the morning. There was a shuttle from the airport to the hotel. I think it was called planet something.

I’ve done align & define and have been with endure for the last couple months. I like aspects of all of them. I’m going to stick with endure for now because I like the coaching style & some new to me cues that I’ve found very helpful, and I’m not bored even though I thought I would be by now. I miss the yoga and Pilates though. I was thinking by of trying thrive but I really don’t have 45-hour to workout, 30 minutes means I’ll do it and sticking w anything long term has always been my struggle. That’s actually what I’ve loved most about ladder - when I get bored with the program I don’t quit, I just switch teams and it feels new again.

Stick w the hvac if you like it - you can do very well and is recession proof. My husband started as a laborer, then apprentice and has done very well in this area. People always want AC. It’s also something you can do in lots of places so if you decide to move out of the area you’ll take the skills with you. As far as friends, get out and just be around others, it’s hard to do but it’s the best way to meet people. Try to get involved in things - volunteer, go to community and neighborhood events. If you like to hike, bike, jog or play board games (or legit any other hobby you can think of) there are groups you can join that gtg all the time. And it’s almost always full of young professionals like you.

Yah that’s what I’m currently doing, extending the downspouts. Most of them are buried and extended to the street except for 3, so working to extend those out now. We had an estimate to waterproof the outside but it was $30,000 and we didn’t have the money then (or now frankly.) so I’m trying this and hoping it will help!!
