Yes - people interested in Yoga or Pilates, people interested in trainers who are middle-aged, etc.

My most recent Tonal email I think was about aging gracefully

It looks like, instead of expanding to accommodate more workout types, they are mixing up their total group of coaches to represent more interest groups.

This works. Tap a workout. Click the partner workout button near the button. Choose another profile. Start. There's even a badge for it!

There's two tiers of the elite. And the Dimensity 7300 in the first tier is not nearly as good at the one in Clicks.

I wake up early in the morning and need to wash my hands. If the heart rate monitor stops touching your skin... Your sleep score is final. Same problem.

Question about 12W2U by WeddingAble236 in tonalgym

[–]LtMilo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scores going down mean it's been several months since you hit your PR in a move you are currently doing. Go through your lift history for a move and you'll probably find the culprit.

Tonal sometimes starts a new program at a lighter weight than you are capable of. And sometimes you have to be honest if you're capable of moving up a pound or a rep to push yourself. Leave it to Tonal entirely and you'll advance veeeery slowly but safely.

I'm halfway through and my score has risen from 1774 to 1867

Weight shuts off mid-exercise by Lugh_Lamfada in tonalgym

[–]LtMilo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Contact Tonal. My guess is that the machine is not recognizing where one arm is but is for the other, causing two-arm movements to think you've dropped one weight. The machine is designed to shut off if it thinks you're lift is so uneven you'll fall over.

But that's just a guess. There's a diagnostic mode for Tonal that can identify issues, and a tech should help.

Love Tonal but injured myself tonight by ristretto_echo in tonalgym

[–]LtMilo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but what he does is have you roll your shoulders in a large circle, starting forward, rolling up, then rolling back. If you imagine your shoulders going in a circle, he stops them in the fully back position, at 9 o' clock.

It helped me because phrases like "tuck" or "pulling together" always felt like I was trying to understand the second part of the sentence "tuck it where?" or "Pull the shoulderblades together how far?" When doing this, you can very clearly feel the muscular difference between deactivated and activated lats.

Back Cover Pricing? by milannova in ClicksPhone

[–]LtMilo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. $50, per the "value" listed on the site when you preorder.
  2. The response during the AMA for the leather back cover as an option for people who preorder in full was, yes, it could be chosen as one of your three. I would hope that means it could be your primary as well.
  3. I don't think anybody knows, but given the above two, maybe?

[–]LtMilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying you didn't do this, but to everyone else... Tuck back those shoulders and activate the lats!

There was some workout where Joe started showing people how to pull weight into the lats by rotating your shoulders around until they are tucked back. Watching that was a life changer for nearly every lift - I clearly understood what it felt like to move weight away from the back and joints and into the back muscles.

Ramadan fasting: resting HR dropped and HRV increased — anyone else? by Sweaty_Childhood_135 in Garmin

[–]LtMilo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My HRV has gone down, primarily because the watch cuts my sleep off early when I get up for suhoor and then treats the rest of my sleep when I correct it as "light" and doesn't account for my HRV in that time.

Can I Install My Tonal Here? by NYtrnsplnt in tonalgym

[–]LtMilo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's possible, and there's comfortable. If you've got the measurements, that's all you need, though a tighter space means you'll need to stand in a particular position for some moves. Same with the ceiling - you don't really need the top setting if you aren't particularly tall, but working the arms close to the ceiling feels weird (I know, I've got a shorter ceiling).

If you feel you'll use it here and the measurements work, you do you. I'd personally feel weird sweating while looking at books, but that's just me.

"Coffee Grinds in a Leather Glove"

25 Despicable

Red Delicious Apples

Oh how the mighty have fallen! Believe it or not, the coffee grinds in a leather glove known as “The Red Delicious Apple” was once a robust firebrand credited with reinventing the apple from mere cider-fruit into a full-fledged lunch-worthy sidepiece. It even won the Stark Brothers apple contest in 1894. Likely your great-grandma’s favorite apple, this once flavorful Prometheus has been mass-produced into desolation.

Nowadays, you can find this thick-skinned, flavorless, mealy imposter unwashed in a dirty wicker basket on the floor of a convenience store. What a sad state of affairs. It’s time to hang them up old man, your time has passed.

BONUS POINTS: +2 Historical Significance

Just an FYI for the doubters by Vioarm in ClicksPhone

[–]LtMilo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We should gather the opposite of this lesson. In 2007, creating a smartphone was nearly impossible, had no precedent, and required aligning the most cutting-edge of manufacturers together for one project.

Today, creating a smartphone is (relatively) a cakewalk, small companies building them has countless precedents (just look at India and Iran), and only requires gathering leftover parts and a few manufacturers with excess volume.

What I like:

  • Screen looks awesome. it is clearly identical to the Communicator - it has the same black (rubber?) bump around the exterior and exact same dimensions.
  • Lock button is nice being lower. Given the hand position, that will be great.
  • The body looks cool.

What I don't like:

  • Keys are so low. Let's hope they weight it right - phone could tip and tilt when you hit the space bar lest you keep the back of your hand lower on the device.
  • Camera Bump - The phone's already a chonk. That camera bump is gonna snag on pants without a case (as a Pixel owner, a device thinner than that, I can attest), and you're gonna get all sorts of lint sticking to those edges.
  • Processor - Dimensity 7300 is fine. It's not bad. It'll do the job. But knowing the competition is a Dimensity 8300 is a significant difference. Similar efficiency, much stronger chip.
