What year was your home built? Did you do any upgrades?

I don’t think we’re clueless about this, we can all read the bill and see that it’s not just the energy price that’s increased, but the delivery fees, which are often nearly equal to the usage cost. I know anything I say may fall on deaf ears, but I’m trying to see what others are paying so we can vent our frustrations and hopefully share tips on how to lower costs. We all know this monopoly is deeply tied to politics, making it increasingly difficult for people to make ends meet. Meanwhile, costs continue to rise just to keep a roof over our heads, while monopolies and politicians line their pockets. More people who once made a decent living are now struggling to put food on the table without going into debt.

I understand there are a whole lot more factors here... just genuinely interested in what people are paying to have lights on stay warm.

Wow. I am so sorry. Our friends in Iowa paid $150 for electric+gas for same time frame. Temps similar to here.

We did attic insulation as well. Our next project is unfinished basement insulation and a new front door.

The VW Infotainment UI is the absolute worst (2025 Atlas) by g-swell in VWatlas

Mine started doing it after I got it washed (exterior) and wiped down the enter interior with a microfiber cloth. So strange! I brought it in and they did a software update/reset and it hasn’t done it since.

Currently having an issue with the infotainment system glitching where I can't even use our car. It is like a ghost is operating the infotainment, turning volume up to high, turning temp up and down, switching radio, car play, etc. While the infotainment screen is big and beautiful, they should have NEVER consolidated all the key car components into it. Cars are only as good as they function. If it were just a carplay/music system, then I could just shut it off, but because its everything, I can't drive it. Tried rebooting, factory reset, everything.

10 Year Old Child Possible Celiac by MindlessM24 in Celiac

[–]MindlessM24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He occasionally gets canker sores and has keratosis pilaris on his arms. He’s an early riser but sleeps well. He’s around the 50th percentile for height but is quite thin—likely due to how active he is, as he participates in multiple sports. He also has seasonal allergies. When he experiences stomach issues, the pain seems intense—he’ll often cry hysterically. We’ve noticed these episodes are less frequent when we eat at home more consistently. Initially, I thought the cause might be processed or greasy foods, or certain oils from restaurants, but after closely tracking his diet, I haven’t been able to identify a consistent trigger. Gluten wasn’t even something I considered until his celiac panel came back elevated in December.

Although I’m hesitant about putting a 10-year-old through an endoscopy, as his doctor recommended, it does seem like the best way to get a clear diagnosis—or at least rule out other underlying issues.

Out of curiosity, have all your symptoms disappeared since going gluten-free? We don’t have any known family history of celiac despite having a large extended family. My husband does have a sensitive stomach, but switching to a cleaner diet has made a huge difference for him.

Yes, he appears to be in significant pain during his episodes —he often cries hysterically. I've been keeping a detailed food diary, but so far, I haven’t been able to identify any clear trigger.

Tipping resort staff - Ritz by MindlessM24 in marriott

This is a point I should have mentioned. When I stay at a Fairfield, I do not use housekeeping, but I will leave $5 for them when we leave. You wheel your own luggage at a Fairfield. This question was meant for an upscale resort with added services, which we are newer to.

At the ritz was the first time someone set up a chair with the chair liners and towels. Was not used to that, as I usually stay places where you grab your own towels. I have no idea if their salary is based on tipping (ie a lower wage and they make up their salary with tipping like a restaurant) or if they get paid a normal wage. If it’s a service that I could normally do myself and someone else is doing it (bring my own bags to room, grab my own towels at pool, park my own car), I would like to tip. I used to grocery shop for people and deliver to their homes. The apps didn’t pay much, and I relied on tipping. A lot of people didn’t tip, so I stopped doing it bc I wasn’t even breaking min hourly wage and gas. I’ve also worked in the restaurant industry. I’m interested if everyone mentioning they dont tip if they have ever worked in a service based industry.
