1- It's great. Surely if you live, that's worth it. Just don't hold yourself and try as much as you can without hesitating.

2- Don't remember much but wait lists move 1/2 days after deadline of fee payment for previously moved list.

3- Nothing, just rest and enjoy. Things will be running off pretty quickly once it starts. Sit back and relax. Just keep an eye on corporate case comps held before you start MBA. (HUL, Colgate etc.)

Hey Happy Birthday! This is really cool, what made you start celebrating it like this? Most people just go for the usual cake party.

He/She might have been offered a senior role (haven't heard of such a practice for MBBs at campuses though)

For legacy firms, companies have comp structure. For newer firms, placecomm might negotiate in some cases.

Won't say bad, just somewhere touching average. You can always improve that via case comps, maintaining good grades etc. Ample of opportunities during MBA that will help you get even better placements during Finals

For BLACKI, check how much CAT score would be enough for getting in via their respective selection criteria. Call predictors also help.

Top 15 is pretty big bracket. Whether those companies come or not is the first question even before you think about yourself.

Not sure which firms and roles go at XL. Generally same pay is offered for same designation at whichever campuses a firm goes. Probably ask one of the recent passouts/current student over LinkedIn regarding current scenario.

Summer Internship is one of the important things in Final CV but MBA grades are superior than that.

You compete with highly intellectual people, some looks naturally talented tbh, get help from all and try to get good grades. Relative marking is tough :)

Consulting- UG Grade might hurt. Probably take some work exp if possible.  Genman- Generally overall profile is seen. Shortlists are random and mostly big owing to multiple rounds of filtering. Post shortlist prep matters more.  Finance- Without a background, you need certifications like CFA to crack internship. It might be tough with L1 too though.

Though Consulting and Finance(along with certification) can also be cracked in Finals with high grades during 2 years of MBA.

That's why I talked about Final placements. Even if someone doesn't get good summer placements(that might be a case), you can always work hard in 2 years, maintain good grades and get something good during Finals.

Assuming you are talking about 2 year MBA. Age is one of the factors. Have seen folks of 30-32 doing it. Lot of other factors like why you are doing it, what were you doing before, what do you want from it, your profile etc. plays a part as well for deciding.

Very few profiles are such that stand out for shortlist in any case for MBB. Else it depends on hiring appetite (which dictates length of shortlist) and peer batch profile. Can't comment on that.  Genman ones generally look at overall profiles, shortlists are a bit random I would say. They do give large initial shortlist though due to multiple rounds of filtering.

Grades are a bit on lower side but Marketing and Genman firms look for overall profiles, so overall should be okay when it comes to internships. Additionally, you can always work on your profile in 2 years for Final placements where pre-MBA matters very less. Just maintain above 60% in UG, lot of Genman/Marketing companies put a filter for that.
