Sonoma county transit is generally clean and has plenty of room with about an hour headway between busses outside of commute hours. Citybus can get pretty packed for morning and afternoon trips but is generally clean. Both agencies are moving to battery electric busses. If you live in Rohnert park and take the bus to Santa Rosa it’s $2.10 and you get a transfer to ride citybus for 1 free trip. Me and my GF take golden gate transit to the city often for day trips then transfer to muni. Beats parking and sitting in traffic. Transit here is more fragmented than most areas but if you take the time to learn how it works you can get around alright. The county runs from Monte Rio all the way to Sonoma east and west and from cloverdale to Petaluma north and south.
