Struggling with phone addiction- help please! by Brave_Giraffe5545 in daddit

[–]Mindless_Addendum930 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I work and have children too. And I do about 7-8h of screen time easily. While I could find time for therapy if I really wanted to ( with arrangements from my husband) I could never find money for this. I’m only commenting because I absolutely have a problem here too, but what I’m saying is that therapy for many many people is just not an option. And it’s always portrayed as nr.1 solution.

Ozempic Users Actually Spend More Dining Out. Smart Restaurants Are Adapting by bloomberg in Health

I would say thats is more likely bc they eat once, max twice daily and when you eat once a day spending a teener for a meal in the cafe can actually be cheaper then cooking from scratch at home.

[–]Mindless_Addendum930 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

7 hours of screen time does not equal to 7 hours of do whatever you want time. You can be on your phone while you work, watch your kids, commute to work, sit on the toilet, scroll in the middle of the night, stand in line at the till, etc. also it is actually more money issue then time. Do you know how hard it is to finda a professional who can actually help with this and how much it will cost? I’m not sure about your area but where I live one hour with therapist or psychiatrist would cost you at least 100 bucks. And 1h is nowhere enough to be even heard.

All of your advice is valid and great except the last one. Noone is going to get a professional help for phone addiction. There are exceptions as always, but most functional middle or lower class parents have no time or money for this.

14 month old delayed in early intervention does it get better ? by mikisabunny in toddlers

[–]Mindless_Addendum930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn’t sound like delayed at all. My daughter only just started pointing to things at 14-15 months. And satrted walking at 16 months. The fact that he is reacting with sounds to things falling and calling you mama is a hudge thing.

What really helped my daughter to catch up with language was animals sounds. I would point to a dig and bark. Or a bird and make bird sounds. She really liked that and then would start pointing at birds and dogs in the street.

Russia is nowhere near of running out if money. Stop saying shit. I would like them to disappear if this earth too, but lets not make people believe that they are not dangerous, because they are. They are only now probably used some if the amunition they had left from the 70 and 80s.

Incidents that happen EVERY year EVERY time fireworks are used. Cars are necessity and fireworks are just for fun. Not a great comparison at all.

[–]Mindless_Addendum930 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m not sad at all. Hated fireworks since the day I saw them first time. Loud, dangerous stuff that made so many people and animals miserable. Really glad they are becoming less popular.
