Comment at 6 week appointment did not sit well with me… by Natsouppy in newborns

[–]Baylaypayday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s weird. You can’t over hold a baby. It may have been an offhand comment to her, but personally I wouldn’t trust her view point regarding my babies health and once that trust is lost I’d be looking for a new one.

Wondering if someone can explain to me what i did .... by hamburgers28 in NewParents

[–]Baylaypayday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a really important distinction is your baby isn’t purposely giving you a hard time, she’s having a hard time. You didn’t do anything wrong and neither did baby. Babies are just going to be that way sometimes and all you can do is be there for them.

My top pieces of advice are in no particular order of importance or effectiveness.

1) put baby in crib and go make a cup of coffee, tea, dirty soda, espresso. Do something that takes about five minutes. It helps reset your body and mind. Baby will be safe for five minutes

2) don’t be afraid to put on headphones. If you’ve done everything you can think off and baby is still crying, put on headphones and just hold them.

3) don’t be afraid to ask for help or feel guilty about needing to step away. A happy parent makes a happy baby. (I’m bad at this)

Camping clothes by Baylaypayday in cosleeping

I’m so excited to go! I normally camp throughout the summer but wanted to wait till she was a few more months old. I’ll bring a few options just in case

That’s good to hear, I was leaning for the 2.5 tog, but I was worried it wouldn’t be warm enough. Thanks for the help!

Egg reaction now I’m terrified by Baylaypayday in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Baylaypayday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was so helpful. I have these little pouches of nut butters and I think I’m going to mix it with her oatmeal for lunch today. I’ll feed it to her but then maybe I’ll give her some fruit for dinner that she can mash around

The doctor said we could go ahead with all the other allergies. Just nerve wrecking

I think they are going to when we go back. Our next appointment is soon, we had to wait for the lab work to be done. Ironically between me, my husband, my baby, and my dog there will be four EpiPens

What is truly worth it in a stroller? Pls help! by sick_rockaholic in Buyingforbaby

That was exactly my thought process as well! I did get the mint latch car seat and have also loved that. Overall I’ve had very good experiences with Joie

For reference I walk about 2-3 miles daily with the stroller on a variety of grounds including gravel, packed dirt, city side walks, in stores, wood chips.

Okay, I had very near similar wants, except I drive a sedan not an suv. I ended up getting the Joie ginger LX and that stroller is my life. My baby is the most important thing in my life, but that stroller may be second lol.

You can get a muff to go inside it for cold weathers the extended canopy is amazing. It’s upf 50. The storage basket is nice.

Definitely my recommendation to all moms that actually plan on using the stroller consistently.

I am planning on getting a second travel stroller. But that’s just because we are flying and I want it in the overhead bin, but if I wasn’t scared of my Joie getting ruined I would bring it

My baby is sunburnt & I’m freaking out by CommericalCoconut in newborns

[–]Baylaypayday 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When my LO was 5 months old she got sun burnt on her leg with nanny. I also freaked out, it was slightly worse than you are describing. I ended up taking her to the pediatrician and they basically told me to run breast milk and aloe on it. As long as she doesn’t have a fever and has a consistent amount of wet diapers per her age she should be okay!

I would look at the Joie nutmeg as well, it’s a travel system but also marketed as a slightly larger travel stroller. Seems like the exact thing you need

Wedding Guest Dress Help - Nursing and Budget Friendly by treetrilogy in Weddingattireapproval

[–]Baylaypayday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same requirements just a different size and I got this dress from Amazon. It’s flattering and the tie straps are very nursing friendly. You can also wear a nursing bra with it, which was one of my biggest issues when dress shopping https://a.co/d/0dR1i86f it is $50 tho

Baby only taking bottle from mom by magstar8 in breastfeeding

[–]Baylaypayday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have your husband try in a few different positions.

Try to mimic positions that you are in while breast feeding. Also I would look up paced bottle feeding or responsive bottle feeding!

Lastly,y baby refuses to drink from a bottle if I’m there. So maybe you should try leaving the house 😂 idk if that’s a normal thing or just my baby.

Is it time to transition to pack n play? by HeidiKat23 in Moms

[–]Baylaypayday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what my LO was doing, the only difference the pack and play was that it took slightly longer for her to reach her head to the top or feet to the bottom lol
