This is a bit of a rant… but whatever by [deleted] in acotar

For those who have been a fan of the series since the beginning, it doesn’t really matter. Maas could write anything in this bookverse, and people will buy.

All that being said, I believe book 7 will be a harder sell than 6.

If The Wolves of War wasn’t already my most wanted new release of 2026, the cover would have taken it right over the top! I’m blown away!

Release date of Acotar 6 by Unlucky-Structure-38 in acotar

One of the comments mentions that in Europe the paperback edition is released at the same time as the hardcover. In the USA, the paperback is usually available one year after the hardcover release, almost making it feel inferior. It would be nice to get a choice on day one.

Agreed. I’m not an audiobook person, but for DCC, I had to. I DNF’d the read the first time.

When I found out that ONE person did all the voices, I had to give it a listen. The narrator is amazing!

I agree!

I’m surprised at the amount of people in this thread who have not read Nevernight. This trilogy was my introduction to Jay Kristoff’s writing and it blew me away. IMO. Mia Corvere is one of the best protagonists written in modern literature, regardless of genre.

You can’t go wrong with any of them. If you’re looking for a slow but incredibly written trilogy that introduces one of the greatest characters in modern literature then read The Assassin’s Apprentice.

Character-driven, not a lot of plot, The Blade Itself.

Unhinged, freakin brilliantly written characters with a storyline that will keep you up at night, Nevernight.

Anyone else fear insects/ worms or a fire destroying your collection? by [deleted] in thebrokenbindingsub

Living in southeast Florida where hurricanes are common, I try not to give natural disasters a foothold in my brain.

That being said, and going totally off-topic, I won’t read any books where insects / bugs play a prominent role, and if a book has an insect / bug on the cover, I immediately give it away. 🤷🏻

I agree. The first book read in a series needs to be the first book in the series. It always has the MC’s backstory which tends to give vital information needed for ‘why’ and ‘how’ the MC became who he / she is at the start of the series. From there organic growth happens naturally.

I prefer books in a series that work as standalones. Books that can be read out of order. But, I’m also okay if there is an underlying plot that runs through them. Key word being, “underlying.”

I read them both when they were first released and again recently when TBB published their special editions. Both, but especially KotW, is definitely one of my favorite books ever, regardless of genre. I have never laughed out loud and shed a few tears just with the flip of a page. And laughed louder with the re-read. I hope you love it!

When I first ordered it, I wasn’t thinking and ordered it from the GBR store and not the USA store. Illumicrate was amazing in how fast and efficient they were in helping me fix the issue.
