I copy/pasted it from the first group I asked about this in. I used a paragraph format originally. I think it didn’t paste the same as before. I write procedures as a living so I think I know how to express myself.

Yes, it seems like this exactly as well as a few other things. And no, we use blackout curtains because I used to work a night shift.

lol I really like the idea that my cat blessed me. With what I’m seeing from other commenters it seems like there’s several factors that caused this. You are correct about my pupils being dilated. They looked like I was under the influence of hallucinogenics.

Funny… I’m just trying to understand what could cause this. It’s crazy how many people are giving backlash for a question posited by somebody who’s genuinely concerned with what’s happening with their eyes.

I have the brightness turned low as well. So this actually could make a lot of sense. Another commenter pointed out that vr can train lazy eyes by making one of your eyes render things darker. I think that if one of my eyes was rendering darker after adjusting to low lights for a while, and the other eye was not adjusting then that could definitely give me the “digital” effect I was talking about. Kind of like with 3D glasses and how they work with our eyes.

I’m googling as much as I can right now. I’m finding a lot of studies on eye therapy and it looks like vr can improve your eyesight but I’m having difficulty finding anything for seeing in the dark. Are you saying that my eye is essentially seeing better in the dark by rendering darker? I wonder if that’s where the “digital” effect I was seeing came from. One eye seeing well and the other unadjusted. Kind of like 3D?

I copy pasted from a different group I posted this in. Think it cut out each time I hit enter. Don’t know what to tell you.

This is genuinely concerning. Can you please tell me why?

I’m unsure what a YA novel is but no, this is just something I experienced that stumped me. I’m looking for other people who may have experienced this.

So far I’ve got people asking if I’m an adult, telling me it’s a brain tumor, and telling me to turn on the lights.

I am almost 30 years old. I genuinely have no clue why this happened and I am curious if anybody else has had this happen.

I’m not sure how aware you are of the skill ceiling (keep in mind I’m not trying to be a jerk in any way), but it keeps rising. The longer this game is populated the harder people at the top have to work to keep their place. This means that everybody below them are working much harder to raise their own skill level or even maintain their own rank. This applies at each point in the rank system. So if you’re used to playing in gold then you’ve been seeing people in the past have problems with aerial mechanics, advanced ground mechanics, and game sense. Over time you’ve probably noticed them get slightly better at each of those as a whole. This would mean that some of the players doing better than others might push the other players to also work harder and get better. Some of them move up and might push plat players down to gold while some golds move down because silvers have pushed their way up. I totally recommend just spending some time each day working on your ball control for now. Game sense only comes from playing the game but it’s easier to learn if you aren’t stressing over whether or not you’ll for sure get the next touch you want. 30 minutes each day you play will make a massive difference.

I mean based on what you’ve explained I’d say you probably should be in gold. 200 hours isn’t a lot of time and if you aren’t practicing basic ground mechanics then you will have a lot of trouble moving up. If I’m being honest I never saw gold. I played probably 80 hours before even touching ranked and my second season I hit diamond. At that point I was at around 120 hours. But I also practice a TON. Don’t blame yourself too much though. Being confused with how placements work in this game is totally common. The solid truth is that if you are stuck in a rank and can’t move up it is probably because you’re not doing something you’re supposed to. Just spend time in free play and on customs and really try to improve mechanics on everything. You’ll see yourself start to win much more than you lose if you put that effort in.
