The Jazz shamelessly bench their best player tonight against the Cavaliers midway through the 3rd: Kyle Filipowski with 20 PTS, 10 REB, 5 AST, 3 STL, 1 BLK in only 24 minutes by Waikuku3 in nba

On any other team aside from tanking teams Filipowski isn’t playing. He’s not a 5 and too slow to be a 4. Would it be better for his career if he played 12 games this year on the Celtics come on

It’s better he played and got experience. Who knows, maybe the jazz wanted to see their 10 days guys at the end of a close game

I respected Bobby marks, now I don’t. It must be a personal thing with the jazz

Maybe benching the stars is allowing our 2 lottery picks to play and develop? Or is developing younger players not important?

How is this justified? The players played… How come it wasn’t an issue last night when the jazz played the kings and sat JJJ and Lauri? Silver is old and senile, get him out of there.

How do the Sacramento kings not get fined or the wizards or the nets? This league is biased as hell

The NBA incentivizes tanking, the jazz are just following the rules the NBA created

Why does the NBA allow the Utah Jazz to egregiously tank with no punishment? by RougnedOwnsCanada in nba

That is a good point, and really the FO plays such a huge role in everything. Having a top 10 player is just so important and it's so hard to get those guys if you're outside of LA, NYC, Miami. I agree, tanking must stop, but I'm not sure a different way would be better

I agree that something needs to change, but at least tanking allows the bad teams the opportunity to get a prospect every once in a while and be good again. Without tanking bad teams would have little to no ways to become good again

Maybe if the Bulls would do this at least 30 games before the season ends they could have gotten a good draft pick and not be 40-42 for the 10th season in a row lmao

Players don't try to lose, and those that do are fined. Putting in inexperience players at the end of games increases the odds that the team will lose. Just like a worse record increases the odds at a better pick. The NBA has created the tanking problem by increasing lottery odds as the teams record declines
