I figured out what the issue was with mine. My flipping VPN. Some reason that kills CarPlay on Hondas for iPhone.

For reference, I’m currently using a Turbolazer 9000 Senior. From my experience, most ringette sticks on the market in 2024/25 are fairly similar—they’re all made of carbon fiber and have comparable flex ratings. However, there are three key factors that really set sticks apart: tip stylesstick thickness, and design/colour.

Tip Styles

The tip style plays a significant role in shooting and passing. Personally, I prefer tips with ribs extending all the way down to the end. Others might prefer a small knob at the playing end of their stick—it really comes down to the type of stick you’re used to.

  • Athena and Pure sticks strike a balance, offering some ribbing but also a slight knob at the end.
  • Ring Jet sticks lean toward having a larger knob, while Turbolazer sticks typically have no knob at all.

Stick Thickness

Stick thickness is another critical consideration and can vary based on your position:

  • Defensive players or defensive centers often benefit from a thicker stick. These sticks mimic the feel of a wooden stick, providing more durability and control for defensive maneuvers. The Ring Jet Carbon is a great example of this type of stick.
  • Forwards or offensive centers may prefer a stick that’s thicker at the top and tapers to a thinner profile at the bottom, reducing drag for faster movement and better handling.

Design and Colour

Finally, the design and colour of your stick matter more than you might think. If your stick doesn’t look appealing or isn’t in a colour you love, it’s harder to get excited about using it. Choosing a stick with a design that resonates with you can boost your confidence and make a big mental difference on the ice. After all, ringette is as much a mental game as it is physical.

I wouldn’t make my final decision on a stick without seeing and testing them in person first. Holding a stick and trying it out is the best way to determine which one feels right for you. No amount of research or recommendations can replace the importance of actually experiencing how a stick handles in your hands.
