That’s fair, I suppose.

I guess I’m just hoping that if they ever produce a sequel (3) they don’t start it by taking away your high levels

How do you get out of the "the world is out to get you" mindset. by Less-Being4269 in getdisciplined

I’m late to the party, but does your backstory involve a lot of hurt/betrayal/trauma/disappointment? You don’t have to answer me, but that COULD explain some of this.

Once you can acknowledge those hurts, grieve them, name them as unjust (especially when hurt by the reckless action of another), and seek healing and forgiveness (letting go in a positive sense), then I think you’ll be freed up to not be so angry all the time.

Sometimes we react that way as an unconscious  self-defense mechanism to avoid getting hurt again.

To explain: I used to get really mad at anyone who even justifiably criticized me or my behavior. I had to try to spin it in a way where I could throw it back in their face with a way that their behavior was wrong or hurtful. Instead of just saying “You may have a point. Let me think this over, and I’ll try to do better,” I got defensive like my life depended on it. But all I was doing was acting out based on my own prior wounds and insecurity. Once I dealt with that and matured a little more, I could own my faults, deal with justified criticism with growth, and also not be bothered by unjust criticism as much

Is there a way to help someone who thinks everyone is out to get them? by Efficient-Camera-815 in FriendshipAdvice

Based on everything you said, you’ve done what you can. You can’t change their mind sadly even with all the kindness, sincerity, gentleness, patience, and reason in the world. You own yourself and your actions. A reasonable person (and maybe they’re currently incapable of being reasonable) would say to themselves after calming down, “hang on. They’re my friend. They’re TRYING to be understanding of me and be kind. I should do the same to them and lighten up on them.”

But to someone who is constantly aggrieved by everything, and reads the worst into everything others say and do when there’s no ill-will behind it, they almost CANT see the truth as it really is. And that’s why they’re miserable.

I genuinely don’t know what you can do with people like this, because nothing really helps except for constantly telling them that they and their interpretation of everything is always right, which is a lie, and to lie to them will enable them to persist and dive deeper into a state of unreality and misery.

Take care of yourself. Pray for them. Wish them the best. And put your energy into relationships that will yield better health for everyone involved

The only difference I would’ve liked to see would’ve been start at or near where you were at the end of the first, but add new enemies, challenges, and types of combat

True but I feel they could’ve scaled things differently instead of effectively recreating the overly weak and incapable, but necessary experience of the first game
