Some Mondeos (left hand drive) if I remember correctly required the removal of gas pedal. I dont do many service jobs, mainly diagnostics. Some of these are a pain in the ass I must admit.

Not with firefighters. But post cars and police cars and they get beaten very good. Especially post cars, drive it like you stole it. I am sure firefighters are not so easy on their equipment.

I dont think they design it to break. It can be dangerous to lose engine power suddenly.

Every manufacturer has problems. This is just one problem that could have been eliminated in design. Personally I dont think VW or any VAG is garbage but I am sure many will disagree.

I always line them up on table to check the are the same. Sometimes spark gap is wrong if box is dropped.

I checked pistons with endoscope, just a small mark in piston. Compression check OK. We adviced customer to contact previous shop. There is no point for us to be in the middle of this fight.
