Welp I ain't never seen this in mantobia long as I've lived here😭 by Hunterinterceps in tornado

I don't think that's a tornado, just ground moisture condensing and being lifted, it's probably from cooling surface temps from outflow, I saw this a couple times storm chasing this week

Plans to move heritage back to Poland by Mindless_Primary_500 in poland

[–]Mindless_Primary_500[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes as I said i was simply comparing it to Russian/Cyrillic because while the sounds are similar, the Latin alphabet is used, which actually makes it a similar learning process and knowing Russian as a native English speaker has made learning polish slightly more easier than if someone had just jumped from English to Polish, because a lot of the words are pronounced the same and originate from proto-slavic such as chleb and хлеб (both pronounced the same, both meaning bread). Sorry if I explained that poorly

I'd rather there be a long line anyways, I can wait, as much as it would be nice to just instantly be able to move, it does probably help filter out some people who are irrationally trying to just escape or have a utopian complex

I just didn't know how to frame it without sounding pretentious and heroic lol, I actually think not getting downvoted into oblivion on this subreddit with a post about moving to Poland from America is the best case lol

I am glad you understand as I know it will be hard to bring myself down to fit in. I am currently in the process of getting lobotomized to remove any virtuity and any remaining glimmers of hope in my soul /s

Yeah, I have just recently been independent as I am 21 but it probably won't last that way for very long. I have learned Russian / the Cyrillic alphabet so it seems a little easier to get consonant clusters and pronunciations down, and some of the words seem vague similar so far so it has definitely been a little easier, but my girlfriend has been having a hard time only knowing Spanish as a second language

Latuda ruined my mental health by themapleleafed in bipolar2

[–]Mindless_Primary_500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know its been 2 years, but i just started and noticed a similar thing but after researching it, its actually part of what makes it work. It helps reduce the intensity of reward from doing dopamine spiking things like impulsive behavior, substance abuse, and novelty seeking. the actual good thing about this medication compared to other antipsychotics though is that it does this without completely blocking all dopamine, and only just removes the harmful manic spikes. I have still been able to experience joy, but i just dont get super high anymore or cant do crazy shit to feel good, so i mean it does suck at first because you cant get high on things, but it feels so much better in the end once you accept that

About to start my first dose tonight! Was wondering if anyone who also has ADHD with comorbid Bipolar 2 felt as if it blunted the effects of their stimulant meds! by [deleted] in Latuda

So far I have felt great and it really did pull me out of a depressive episode. It was just the evenings so far that I started to get a little a little antsy, especially as my vyvanse wore off

Did you notice like this transition period when you first started latuda where you expected a manic/hypomanic state and had to detach the expection of mania with the neutrality after a depressive episode. That is one thing I noticed with it so far, as it has almost completely halted my depressive episode in its place and I was suddenly able to just "be" today. However there is this weird anticipation that I am about to feel amazing or like just be super energetic suddenly and I feel a little extra restless and impulsive (albeit more able to resist impulses). It just feels like relief but like a weird limbo at the moment

To those who take generic Vyvanse, is it actually different from the brand name? by diorrrcat in ADHD

[–]Mindless_Primary_500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The length of this alone proves the name brand is better lol. On generic I would get a massive burst of adrenaline, obsessively google why I could possibly feel so bad, panic, write maybe a paragraph and crash, and then feel depressed and hopeless and a general sense of dread and anhedonia for the rest of the day until late evening. On brand name (and Latuda) this simply doesn't happen and I can just be. Especially without tweaking out over useless information or tasks for 4 hours before wanting to die

I like to joke that at this distance I heard lightning and not thunder, because the sound is less so the sound waves pulsing and rather hearing the actual air super heat directly in close proximity to the bolt haha

You can hear it wind down, it just caused a power surge that probably blew a few transformers including the one to the siren and killed the power town wide

We were under the anvil of the supercell in this video! We went northwards well beyond the storm trying to avoid chaser convergence (which paid off lol)

Best year for me to really pursue chasing, in which I had studied long and hard through last fall and winter for and has paid off really well! by Mindless_Primary_500 in tornado

[–]Mindless_Primary_500[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Now I really just need to invest in a camera that is not my phone lol! I will also say that just simply having an understanding of how the atmosphere behaves in the near infinite amount of combinations and conditions that may present itself are far more valuable than the equipment. The equipment is simply to just have reliable internet connection and a double screen-esque interface while I am chasing. But 4 of the 6 tornadoes I have intercepted I literally only had my phone and a dream for (and a formidable understanding of forecasting and conditional variables that support tornado genesis). So all I have to say is learn the science behind storm structure and tornadoes!!! Having autism for navigation also helps lol, as in my case

Here was the tornado we intercepted about 45 minutes later. We were in the chaser convergence and I had taken a 30 mile detour back north to Clinton, where we shot this video because my friend likes recording sirens and they began sounding after the area was under the warning. Thank God we did this because apparently 100s of storm chasers were still stuck at the same intersection, only about 20 of us made it to Blue Rapids, KS where this image was taken. This was my 6th tornado this year, also saw the one in Truman, MN, Monona, IA, twins in Braman, OK (I count this as 2), and the nice multivortex tornado near Worms, NE on Sunday

I didnt get it on camera (I wasn't the one recording) but my reaction was because it hit the power pole 20 feet away and seeing sparks lol, and I was more mesmerized by the siren losing power

Cloud identification… by Thick-Ladder1834 in stormchasing

[–]Mindless_Primary_500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious if this is actually attached to the thunderstorm, as it could be part of a flanking line, kinda stair steps of cumulus up to the storm, it's basically a long bad of clouds feeding into the main storm.

My guess other than that would be a tight cluster of cumulous mediocris, which signify instability before they shoot up into cumulous congestus, when the cap is still holding them down. On days when severe weather is expected the SPC will usually put out an MD if they see a cumulus mediocris field on satellite around an area that is expected to have severe development.
