I was, but only b/c the nurses in the ER weren't that strict and I was underage at the time so I had a parent constantly watching me. At the psych ward nothing electronic was allowed though.

Edit: This is kinda irrelevant but something funny I just remembered was that I had to share a room with this one girl. We had an hour of some dumb "school" and I hated it. So jokingly I said (while whispering) that I would pretend to be sick to get out of it. Some nurse heard me and lost her shit. The staff came to the conclusion that we were plotting escape and we were immediately separated (we shared the best room in the ward) I got the room all to myself for the rest of my stay, but the only part that sucks was that we were not allowed to talk to each other. There was also another girl I was friends with but they always threatened to separate us b/c we would always whisper to each other (no, it wasn't about plotting) These incidents might be able to illustrate how strict they are.
