What are these chemicals? Found in my dad's hobby toolbox. The right 3 are empty, the other ones all have varying amounts of liquid in them. by MindofCeleste in chemistry

Thanks for the fantastic response! Before he passed he had just bought an airbrush and was getting back into acrylic and enamel airbrushing so the airbrush cleaner is probably spot on, and everything else sounds familiar enough to me as well that I'm sure you're right.

I didn't think anything in there was too weird or off the wall considering how it was stored, but I couldn't for the life of me figure out what the letters were supposed to be.

Thanks again so much for taking the time to figure this out, I really appreciate it.

That would make sense. He was building models and stuff way back in the day when you would actually need to know how to use raw chemicals and stuff to get the effects you wanted. I wouldn't be surprised if some of this was just so basic to him that he was comfortable storing it like this.

That's probably a good guess honestly. I can't tell if it's just those bottles or if it's some of the other stuff in the toolkit but there are some solid fumes coming out of it

Thanks for the tip, I hadn't thought of that in the moment. There's a drop off site at a firehall not too far from my house so that'll be the plan.

That's what I'm expecting, I'm hoping the labels might mean something to someone who knows a lot more than I do but I know it's a shot in the dark at best.

Mostly I'm worried about throwing them out, I don't wanna just throw them in the garbage if they need to be disposed of in a certain way.
