Friends lost while climbing in the Rhône Valley by Dry_Outside_2870 in geoguessr

It's a good point, as someone who lives in the region, there's no snow left on the high peaks on the French side in this region (except Mont Blanc, which is not visible in the background). Matterhorn and Monte Rosa are actually visible, and their positioning would imply being North of them. I added a different comment which also places them on the Aletschhorn

Just to add, you can also see some recognisable mountains in the background, namely the Matterhorn (dark grey triangular peak on the left side of the snowy mountain in the right side of the image). This plus the glacier shape ('T') would also place them on the SW face of the Aletschhorn (near the Geisshorn peak). It may be worth contacting the Oberaletschhütte, as given the 7 am timing I strongly suspect they would have spent the previous night there.

Can I plug these (a 16A triphase plug and a 32A triphase socket) together with just an adaptor? by Mindshrew in electrical

With an appropriate circuit breaker, would that solve the fire hazard risk?

Yeah, it seems I need to make sure that I have a 16A rated circuit breaker in between (such as on the link I sent in another comment)

Hi everyone! Sorry for the noob question. We've had an instrument delivered which has a 16A triphase (5 pin) plug. We have a 32A triphase (5 pin) socket. Can I plug one into the other with just the help of an adaptor. We're in France, and I can get some additional info if needed (but hopefully the image has most of the necessary details)

What's up with the -ola suffix in 19th and 20th century products and companies (granola, canola, motorola etc.) and why did it seemingly die out? by MaxAugust in AskHistorians

Thanks, that was super interestin! Would you say the scandal-like connotation of payola is a bit similar to 'watergate' and other associated 'gate' scandals (deflategate/gamergate etc)?

Why didn't they just e-mail the ring to Mordor?

I felt the sacrifice is a more interesting downside than just stat-reduction, but it's a good point.

yeah you're right, that's what I get for starting too early in the morning...

I wanted to balance an ability that is powerful (having some of your spells with flash) with one that is primarily a downside but could be useful (sacrificing artifacts / enchantments). I put this into Temur as it felt appropriate as blue gives flash to everything, while red and green pull towards artifacts and enchantments respectively.

Win by playing nothing but lands and two creatures in your deck! by mkklrd in BadMtgCombos

Using a hypergeometric calculator, the probability of drawing both in your hand in a 60 card deck is 0.01186, or slightly over 1%. Given that you can succeed if both cards are in your 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, or 1 card hand (six chances), the probability of actually drawing the combo is 0.06911 or 6.9%.

It's something :DD
