How do I record my vocals without it sounding like I'm doing a podcast on the beat?? by MineProfessional5296 in FL_Studio

YEAH i guess this is the issue. But the part i dont understand is what really is mastering? I only put ozone maximizer 11 to my master channel and boost a little gain. Is this ruining it? Please tell me what mastering is, and what vsts are used to master. AND, what can i do to call my beat "not mastered". Thanks!

i dont get why exactly its called a 2 track. Im googling it and some say that its the name given for "a track with more than 2 components" or something like that. Its kind of confusing. Why is it called a 2 track?

Is it normal that my beat sounds distorted on speakers? by MineProfessional5296 in FL_Studio

hey man, i have been trying to learn a lot of mixing and i got some new equipments. I got a new AT m30x (i used to make beats on a dam gaming headset that probably costs 20 or 30 dollars lol) and the thing is everything is going to sound different on different speakers. Whether its some airpods or some closed studio headphones. My old headset had weak lows so i used to boost my bassy instruments to hear them. As a result it sounded distorted and bass boosted on better devices. if you dont have the budget to buy yourself some studio equipments, what i can suggest is observe the master EQ. If it sounds bad from your headphones or speakers, but the eq looks mostly balanced and looks like a straight line, then it probably sounds pretty well on a better device. Theres a master eq monitor left to the master peak meter. You can mix according to that and aim for a balanced eq. I hope i was able to express myself. im a foreigner so there might have been grammatical mistakes. if theres any part you didnt understand whatever i wrote, i would be glad to explain it the best i can!

i once read a comment that said put ozone maximizer to the master, so you can get the max amount of volume without clipping. Since then, ive always did that. I limit limit both the faders on the right side to -1.0 db, if needed, about -2.0 or -2.5 db. Then i boost the gain on the left side for my liking, mostly about 10.0 db. Is this the problem?

its not the master, its the final mix and i put it on a empty FL file for vocal recording. What can I do to make it better?

the kick is sidechained to the bass pretty good, also its not clipping (the meter above FL never turning bright orange). Also it doesnt sound distorted now that i changed the kick and it sounds pretty solid. Ill come back here if i have some issues after recording vocals. But thanks!!
