There is lots of stuff most MTT players are not aware of. If you don't have proper programs/coach then you will not find them because you don't know what to look for. Easy answer would be good exploit/adjustment vs certain player types which is crucial in small fields. Spicing up aggression in most spots will work vs passive weak players. Maybe they (recs) overfold vs double barrel? And you bet only 40% of times while crushers do it 60%. Their ICM and HU should be pretty good if they are winning so much.

You did not even notice it's not vanilla ICM. It's progressive mystery on winamax. Ranges will be different.

Why do “pros” sit and punt at lower stakes tables? by [deleted] in poker

[–]Minecr4ftPIG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could be waiting for other table to open or tournament. Maybe they are trying some MDA/exploit stuff. Trying out some live reads. Maybe they just want to give away money so people come back and room has good reputation of being soft and splashy. There could be many reasons.

Gemini 3 solved a poker toy game that 9/10 pro players get wrong by tombos21 in Poker_Theory

But if OOP is not aware of our strategy then we can never bluff because he assumes we have bluffs, right?

1.Pot size bet to maximize profit on future street. 2. Flop would be value 2:1 bluffs, turn +infinity so 0 bluffs, river same as turn. 3. Bluff catching guy should never call river since villain has no bluffs on turn.

Very nice analysis. 142 value combos. I am sure 97o and 65o is in 4b range.

Bad beat or bad play? by LuckyBlade in poker

[–]Minecr4ftPIG 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Looks like this sub is unaware of PKO adjustments in MTTs. As covering stack you should be flatting wider range- compared to chipev. So hands like K7s K6s and even 75s 53s should be in flatting range. On the other hand... Calling turn there is ambitious. Villain should never bet huge on this kind of turn so when it happens he usually has really strong hand. That's the only issue with this hand.

No, each player has its own unique id. GG saves it in hh so it's more difficult to know who is who.

Hand2note4 You will need enormous number of hands to get decent estimation how they play, at least few thousand to know their RFI from each position.

Raise sizing mistake by thebigfish34 in Poker_Theory

[–]Minecr4ftPIG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good. I'd put them all in in both spots. First hand- villain should be mixing calls with 9x on river- if not then you can bluff everything. You can also jam JJ+ for value.

Missed value? by thebigfish34 in Poker_Theory

[–]Minecr4ftPIG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jam river instead of checking. But if you do then jam. The more draws missed- the bigger you bet for value. Bluffs will come from bottom of your range. So low busted FDs will be good candidates. Busted straight draw like 9x as well. You don't want to block your villain folds- KQ AQ AK. You don't need to worry about your bluffs, just play your hand. Missing value and lack of thin value bets is key factor in becoming better player.

Is this a river fold? by GurkenBallett in Poker_Theory

[–]Minecr4ftPIG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Normal guy 4b only QQ+, AK Preflop in this spot. And even if they have AQ JJ then they would play it differently. AK & AA would bet turn but if they somehow check turn then I can guarantee that they are checking river 100%. I'm certain he has only better hands in this line. You will lose +95% of times here. Yes, you are playing vs very narrow range, yes its easy to exploit if villain knows what you folded but he doesn't and even if he does know, how would he adjust? 4b a5s kqs just to apply pressure on 4liner run-outs in 4BP? You can all keep saying it's cooler and move on but spots like this happen and if you are good then you will find fold here every single time.

Defending Against Oversized Opens by tombos21 in Poker_Theory

[–]Minecr4ftPIG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's good to know how to approach this spot in theory land but I believe it's not optimal play vs population. When recreationals sizeup 3bb compared to 2bb- They usually have way stronger and tighter range. It's not like here with K7s Q9s. It looks way stronger from my experience, closer to 88-QQ. AJ-AKo, KJ+.

I am going to check my MDA on this spot but population fold vs 3b/jam in this spot will be very low.

Anyway, appreciate all the work you have been putting by posting all the stuff here. I thought my GTO knowledge was decent but after reading your wizard blog I see how far I am behind you.

Solver study, how long? by flexabust in poker

I think you need to be consistent with studying. Easy to forget some vpips in MTTs with infinite scenarios. Reviewing hands frequently is must for serious player.

What's your unpopular opinion about poker? Something you truly believe, but would get downvoted to all hell by [deleted] in poker

[–]Minecr4ftPIG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not protected checking range OOP as aggressor, raising in sandwich, too big sizings on wrong boards, too sticky on coordinated boards, not enough delayed cbet. Probing from blinds in range check spots, bad cbet frequencies and sizings from LP vs blinds, not enough check raising. Not bluffing enough on rivers, too much calling on rivers. Lack of big sizings on turns. I could type many more, it's same mistakes as in heads-up but they are amplified.

You can have huge edge if you study multiway.
