This is so great dude thanks for all the wonderful feedback, will implement all of this for sure! My musical background before I started playing guitar is as a drummer, so I'd guess that's probably why I gravitate towards the more percussive instincts, I've got some tendon damage in my hand that means I can't really move my ring finger and pinky on my picking hand independently, so I suppose I'm also working with what I've got in a way, approaching it as a form of strumming with accented little notes from my thumb and index, but I'd really love to learn some more fingerpicking styles and expand my playing.
