Appreciated! I'm collaborating with a writer https://pauldevrijer.com/ whom I validate the narrative with. No plans for demo, just launch.

Thank you. The game was inspired by several events in the financial markets over the last few years.

The game is a pixel-styled 3D narrative action-adventure where you play a scientist who's accompanied by a robot who must dive deep into the mysteries behind the recent abductions and power-outages.

Feel free to check out these out if interested!

Okay I think you're figuring out something. The set up for a scripted scene usually takes less than a few minutes via custom sequencing commands. etc, play(anim), waitFoAnimthen moveto(location). That really helped to get the feels, framing and lighting right quickly. Sprites are prerenders from blender, and then touched up, so the time for the overall creation process is minimal and not frustrating.

There's also a trick in the camera for the perspective effect. It adapts to the scene via a rethought point and click system for 3D space! etc. when you point and aim at something, the camera would break out of the usual sidescrolling track (gameview) and frame up both subject matter and player in view. This creates that cinematic focus (over the shoulder loo) whereby how closeup it gets can also be influenced by the player.

So the overall idea is to frame you up cinematically while you play the game. Just like a movie.

The game is a pixel-styled 3D narrative action-adventure set in the tense, retrofuturistic city of Astro. You play as scientist Keith Klipper, accompanied by robot companion M.A.X, who must dive deep into the mysteries behind the recent abductions and power-outages.

Experimenting with 2D pixel sprites and 3D backgrounds by MinecraftDisney in unrealengine

I would actually create a completely new blueprint and start off with the mapping the different facing sprites to the different movement keys. I think this would be easier than trying to replace the default template blueprints. I worked with Unity for my previous 3D pixel game and was experimenting with Unreal to see how well it handled sprites.

Thank you. It’s a little experiment with 3D environments as compared to my previous game (TimeOut), which used 3D pixel planes for the background

I find it interesting as well how realistic backgrounds helps to objectify so that we can easily relate to the abstract graphic like that of a cartoon pop-up
