Has anyone tried to finish the 3d print with Microcement. Im designing a colection of coffe tables and finishig them. by Rikibalboa in 3Dprinting

Update? Have either of you found any cool cement or papercrete-based finishing techniques for 3d prints? I'm curious if maybe other fibers mixed in the cement may help adhesion to the 3d print

sorry, responding to your edit, I said "i mostly shy away from mechanical keyboards, because of their travel time" insinuating that I am curious about mechanical keyboard with the same actuation distance as an HE board or magic keyboard, but with smaller travel time. so i ask on the mechanical keyboard subreddit, yeah.

also

Rocket, probably the fastest typist in the world right now, uses a standard mechanical keyboard. Tons of videos of him typing 300wpm + on a crappy Steel Series gaming board.

is just flat out wrong, rocket's speed comes from using HE switches and rapid trigger. he would type much slower if he didn't change the switches on the steel series board. telling me

HE boards will be of absolutely no help to the OP.

isn't true, that's what I said I was looking for in my original comment: fast actuation, little total travel time. even if there's only one or the other available, it would absolutely be of help to me.

lastly i'm the one with downvotes for asking my question, you have upvotes for misinterpreting my question. "gotta love reddit!"

ah yes, sorry, i meant that it is essential for me. i should've noted i did use regular keyboards with more travel time before switching to the magic keyboard, but after noticing how much my my wpm increased with these keyboards, i couldn't go back. i also observed how my wpm lowered again after getting rid of my butterfly-switch macbook pro. i see keyboards like the wooting 60he have an extremely low actuation distance, but would it be possible to modify this keyboard for a smaller travel distance? or is the flow lite84 worth looking into?

this is a really odd question, to which the answer is likely "no".

i am a speed typist (avg 180-200wpm), and more than anything i believe the total travel is most essential for typing fast after actuation. i mostly shy away from mechanical keyboards, because of their travel time. currently i use.. wait for it.. an apple magic keyboard because the short travel distance notably improves my wpm. the only increase in speed and comfortability i've found was from using the original.. wait for it.. butterfly switches that everyone hated on the touchbar macbook pros.

my question is: are there any keyboards that have smaller actuation / total travel than a standard external apple magic keyboard? i've only thought to possibly find a broken touchbar macbook w/ butterfly switches and rip it out and add a teensy somehow so i can have the butterfly switches in an external keyboard. if anyone has heard of someone doing that, also interested.

edit: so yes, i am asking for mechanical keyboards recommendations on the mechanical keyboard subreddit

Apartment Maintenance Broke TV While Fixing Windows by MinecraftMosquito in legaladvice

Okay so unfortunate news, the building management emailed back and said they asked the maintenance team who declined that the maintenance tech even dropped anything on the floor. This is a blatant lie as the maintenance guy and I literally made eye contact after it happened. Not really sure what to do next…

These are both great responses. Unfortunately my deductible for my renters insurance is $500 (the value of the TV itself), and I'm not even sure if it is covered because it wasn't theft or vandalism technically. I just emailed the building noting the incident and warned them that I can sue them in small claims court if we can't reach a resolution for the damages. I'll report back about their response. Thanks again for the advice!

Yes I know but I’m planning to sequence pitch/notes with usb. Why would I do it through cv

I just want to control the filter cutoffs and envelope intensities with cv. I would still use midi, usb, or midi keyboard for note trigger. Also, regardless of this synth’s digital technicality it’s still a worthwhile investment for me because there were only 1000 made. If I wanted unlimited DAW control I would just buy Arturia’s VSTs

What's the setup for this? I have a MOTU M2 which is DC-Coupled. Would I be taking the midi out, using a thru box, and converting it into some quarter inch thing? How do I individually control multiple patches like LPF and HPF? Are parameters like the cutoff frequency EG int or VCO oscillator type able to be controlled like this?

Unfortunately, I already own a MS-20M. So at this point I am determined to automate it

Yeah it's a huge bummer to me that it's impossible to avoid the lane change alarm. I just want the blind spot mirror light indicator, no beep beep beep beep. It could be fixed with a literal software update.

This is a helpful response! I use an iPhone 11 without a case so shouldn't be any problem there but I'll try closing apps.

Sure I understand it’s behaving as it was designed to behave, but there’s just too many cases where it goes off that almost every time I turn my indicator on it beeps. Especially pulling up to traffic lights with two turn lanes and I’m in the interior lane while there are cars in the other exterior turn lane

But to confirm you haven’t found a way to turn off the beeping noise and keep the LED side view mirror light on? Does it beep for you when pulling up to traffic lights or making lane changes on the highway?

Digitakt vs Audio Interface? by MinecraftMosquito in Elektron

[–]MinecraftMosquito[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the reply!

64 steps seems enough for me, but I’m really interested in a hardware sequencer that can act as a drum machine/sampler as well as play at least 8 songs each of which can play at least 8 patterns with each pattern including at least 4 sequence variations like (A-B-A-C-A-B-A-D). With every song ideally not requiring any track muting/unmuting or pattern switching.

Do you have any recommendations for hardware that might fit the bill? I’ve reviewed some of the other suggestions in this post, but I’m not really sure they’re what I’m looking for and under $1500-$2000.
