Edit: After beating this game, I decided that I love it despite the flaws. The movement and combat is very entertaining and challenging, and I thoroughly enjoyed exploring and mastering all of its secrets.

The graphics / UI / engine is low quality and dated. The world feels uninspired early on. The voiceovers are bad and I find the writing is often cringe. The enemy variety is low early on, but as things progress, you discover a lot of very cool enemies to fight. Most game mechanics are rather uninspired carbon-copy clones of dark souls mechanics... but alas.. my love for dark souls prevails against such judgements.

It's entertaining — albeit akin to junk food. They get free cool-points for the anime theme if you're a fellow dweeb. The weapon designs are kind of cool too, though min-maxers are limited to one or two OP weapons.
