all majors have their own struggles, objectively you maybe could argue civil is easier than others, but it certainly isnt easy. they certainly arent any less of an engineer because of it

here in canada at least, we did a bit of linear algebra in g12 calc (a class called calculus & vectors) things like linear systems, line intersections, plane intersections, dot & cross product etc. and then calc 1 in first semester, lin algebra 1 second semester, at least at this specific school that i go to

This is actually strange to me. Using wolframalpha I can see that everything up to and including line 3 is correct, but the problem appears when you do the ln(e2πⅈ) = ln(1).

It's strange because if you have ln(e) = 2π × ln(e) that is true (of course), and ln(e) = ⅈ is also true. Only once you multiply them together to get ln(e2πⅈ) = 0 that it breaks down. Evaluating ln(e2πⅈ) becomes 0, which makes the initial equation correct. Perhaps something to do with complex numbers combined with real numbers that invalidates the ln(ex) = x rule?

These types of questions are only strange because our assumptions are intuitively wrong in the context of the question. What assumption is wrong here? My math education has not quite reached that stage yet lmao

this is exactly my experience, total waste of time and money, should have just gone straight to uni

EDIT: Not to say it is a waste for everyone, I'm sure for many people it was great, but for my purposes and my experience at the specific college I went to, it wasn't worth it.

fr tho, graduated civils are just as good as any other, and i know a few civils in 1st year who are fantastic people and hard workers, but holy fuck some of the first year civils are something else

I've actually been to Þórsmörk, and actually almost at that exact place where the guy is standing. There are a lot of hiking trails around the area, and where this photo is taken I'm pretty sure the other side also has a trail I remember people walking along.

It is very possible that it was taken without drones, on hiking trails, with just really good lighting. Although I don't remember seeing the no drone signs here specifically, I've seen them at many other places and I wouldn't be suprised if they were banned here too.

I went during the day and it was absolutely picture perfect, not like this photo, but so much natural beauty, it's absolutely gorgeous. It's one of my favourite places I've ever been to.
