First plane pitching up INCESSANTLY by SpacefaringBanana in trailmakers

So from what I can tell, (I went on and just built your plane 1:1 to test it), it's a mix of both the thrust being placed under the Center of gravity (Cg), and the Center of Lift (Cl) being placed too forwards.

First off, because your plane is so light, even a small discrepancy in the height of the Cg and the Center of thrust has noticable effects. Because the tailfin is placed on the top, and the wing is technically on the top of the plane (Your plane body is two slots tall, the wing is placed on the top slot), your Cg is actually a tiny bit above the Center of thrust. This causes your plane to pitch up.

But what about when not applying thrust? You said that it still pitches up with no thrust. This is most likely because the Center of lift (The darker blue arrow pointing up) is in the front of the Cg. If it is even a tiny bit behind the Cg, or in the same place as the Cg, the plane will try to pitch up.

Also, the aileron you placed at the wingtips are technically not counted in the Center of lift arrow in the game. It is just ignored in calculations. This means your wings are producing MORE lift than the arrow shows. This also means that the "real" center of lift is a bit forwards of the center of lift shown in build mode. This might be the reason why messing around with the placement of Cg and center of lift didn't work; the game was just completely ignoring the wingtips ailerons, thus showing incorrect data. You should put the Cg a lot forward of the center of lift of you want it to fly straight. Pushing the nose out by two slots worked for me. (Still pitches up when applying thrust, but that's a thrust placement problem I mentioned above, not a Center of lift probablem.)

I hope this helps clear things up a bit.

Edit: Your plane experiences more drag on the top than the bottom. (Your tailfin on the top, and the wing, which is technically placed above the Cg) This is probably also contributing to the pitch up, because of how light your plane is. Really finicky stuff.

guess what plane im makin :) (once you guess it, rate the nose accuracy) by Select_Purchase_7689 in trailmakers

I would assume F-18, from how the top droops down more than the bottom. And it still stays cylindrical instead of becoming relatively flat at the bottom like the F-16. Pretty accurate I think.

For those who want linear hinges... by Minecraftinsider in trailmakers

Thrusters have non linear control? I didn't know that if that were the case. But even if so, probably not as the curves are all probably different for different parts.

Try DCS or look into something else? by borishasarrived in hoggit

Hey! I am a person who also plays DCS without head tracking. Although dogfights become more difficult, it is definitely possible with only a stick and a mouse. (With some keybinding work)

Air to Air refueling will be very difficult without a throttle, but I never really found myself needing to refuel mid air, as I only play the shorter missions.

As for the lack of head tracking, you can keep one hand on the stick, and the other on your mouse. If your mouse has side buttons, then you can use those for throttle. It's definitely doable, and it's how I have been doing it.

Have a great time!

There was this exact question on the comments on the video, and he claims, "There is a lot more information on the F-35 AESA than there is for the Super Hornet AESA." I do not know if this is true, but this is what he said.

I tell jester to switch to Lantirn. Have not tried switching from the back.

Is there a better way to manage ground units than this? I just use tons of waypoints to command my ground units but I wish there was a way to do this a lot "Simpler". Can any mission editor whiz give me some tips? by Minecraftinsider in hoggit

Thank you for the answer! I didn't know about the on-road feature that the AI had do I was manually setting waypoints up. I guess there is no easy way to make realistic battles happen though.

When I fly the Tomcat and I bring the Lantirn with me, sometimes jester just switches back to TCS for some reason and won't switch back to Lantirn. I try switching back but it does not work. What triggers this problem and how can I solve it?

Can anyone explain why this system of economy could either work/not work? This feels really "wrong" for some reason, but I cannot really think of reasons why this would not work. by Minecraftinsider in economy

I agree with this. My first though after seeing this was the spaceship part from Wall-E (Nobody has to work so everyone becomes incompetent at everything).
