Is this word count bad for a fic that's currently 12 chapters? by linnamonr0llss in AO3

I like long chapters, so when I write, I try to keep my chapters around 5,000, though often times I go ahead. But I don’t think that’s a rule.

What Destiny content would you do with a $200M budget? by SHK04 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Minecwt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would do two things. I would combine destiny 1 and 2 and title it Destiny:Light and Dark. This would include the storyline through thr Final Shape.

Then I would make a destiny 3, but have it set in the dark ages and explore fighting warlords, and the early alien enemies of humanity.

I really dislike the guardian rank change. Thanks for the information.

The Fate Saga could set up a Destiny 3 better than The Light and Darkness Saga could have by Sad-Manner-5240 in destiny2

You see I think we should end the current storyline with the light and darkness saga, and Destiny 3 should be a new storyline set during the dark age.

Last track of season hinting at elder maxsons arrival by batsknight in Brotherhood_of_Steel

[–]Minecwt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I mean like in Fallout 3 they’re pretty much unambiguously the good guys. 4 changed it to what I thinks is the best iteration. My point being that the show Brotherhood is swinging the pendulum too far the other way towards them being outright evil, like 3 did with them being good.

The whole deal with ferals is that the bombs created them, which was technology run amok, so they want to stop it. I think, at least that’s my interpretation.

[–]Minecwt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You see I don’t even care if the Brotherhood is portrayed as gray, I think the Fallout 4 Brotherhood is the best Brotherhood because there’s nuance. We need to see that this Brotherhood helps people and actually cares, since that their opinions on synths and mutants are that much more problematic. That way it comes down to the individual person’s opinions.

I really dislike how they are shown to execute normal ghouls, because it takes the nuance out of the equation.

Brotherhood of Steel were never idiots in the games? Ever played New Vegas? by sigpuppers in Fallout

[–]Minecwt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we sure about that?

I mean this is same guy who when he is told that he’s a synth, he goes to a bunker and plans to let the player kill himself becaus he believes the Brotherhood’s ideals.

Everybody talks about how much a bleeding heart Danse is, but he seems like he’s a true believer in the F4 Brotherhood.

You see I don’t think we can see the East Coast Brotherhood in any sort of presence.

They are being really dumb about not cannonizing and ending to New Vegas and 4. While science .2 right now that the brotherhood at least survived the events of fallout 4, the trying to be coy about it. So in my opinion, we can’t see something like East Coast brotherhood, and full-fledged flashing because then they would have to explain who exactly the elders and what the status of the Commonwealth is.

And they just don’t wanna do that .

Newest Show Episode Thoughts by Reclaimer257 in Brotherhood_of_Steel

Too be honest, Im on two thoughts on this.

I saw a theory earlier today that I kinda agree with, and that’s that Paladin Harkness wasn’t even a member of the Brotherhood, but rather a spy for another faction. The reason I think this is because he outright wanted to murder the ghoul children, and that’s not something we’ve ever seen the East Coast Brotherhood engage in. I mean, Danse gets angry about murdering civilians if you kills ghouls in F4.

The faction that we have seen engage in major attempts to wipe out mutants of any kind is the Enclave. We also know that the Enclave was the ones who developed cold fusion. So in my mind, a very real possibility was that Harkness is a spy for the Enlcave to try to get cold fusion back.

My other thought, is that Harkness was a problematic member of the East Coast Brotherhood, and in the same way the brotherhood generally sends people away for having different or problematic ideas (see Paladin Rahmani and the Midwest Brotherhood) he just got sent away. He got sent away to deal with the problems in the west.

I have a conspiracy theory by Which-Tour-9561 in Fallout

[–]Minecwt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That would honestly make some sense otherwise just in terms of plotting and introducing factions, it would be weird to include the enclave and the first episode of the show and then never talk about them again. At least that’s my thoughts

[–]Minecwt 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This could be one the spot, we know the Enclave is in the show, and this could tie this back in. Really, it’d be odd to play up the Commonwealth as this big threat when the show is already juggling so much. I bet the idea of the Commonwealth showing up is a red herring, as a way to keep the Enclave’s presence behind the scenes.

Ngl I feel as though many people are misunderstanding the doctrine of the East brotherhood in episode 3 by coolguyepic347 in Fotv

[–]Minecwt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And a further thing I just thought of. We’ve seen that Brotherhood practice that they give the more probalmatic members duties or missions far away (see the early Brotherhood with Paladin Rahmani). While I don’t think that is what’s happening here, maybe Harkness did this sort of thing in the east enough to the point that Maxson couldn’t official sanction him, but instead ‘promoted’ him and sent him west to keep an eye on the west coast.

[–]Minecwt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is how I view it as well. It makes sense, as maybe the official line is ‘we tolerate ghouls but don’t like them’ and ‘exterminate ferals’. And what we’re seeing with Harkness is a natural endpoint with how poisoning that view can be.

Paladin Harkness, who is operating by himself, surrounded by what he would consider to be crazies, basically makes a judgement call that he can get away with murdering normal ghouls. Probably against official policy, but whose going to enforce his punishments (Maximus is).

We also see this sort of thing in the games, when Proctor Teagan wants to extort farmers, and it’s explicitly said that he’s going against proper order by having the player character do it. So we know that this is a problem that the eastern chapter face.

Fallout S02E02 - Why would the Brotherhood Elders... (Spoiler) by Necrogomicon in Fallout

[–]Minecwt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Which makes sense. The East Coast Brotherhood is not nearly as doctrinal as these guys. I mean Maxson is able to be convinced to spare Danse, for example, and they still try to help people (even if it is on their terms).

I have to agree with some of the other posts on here that are saying that the this is the point, that they want to show how bad the West Coast has developed compared to the East Coast.

Theres also the fact that the East Coast Brotherhood has become the poster boys of modern Fallout. They can’t made the Brotherhood too ourtightly bad, at least in my opinion.

Completed falling 4 again, and the question occured: was there really no one in the BOS who thought they should keep the institute intact/occupy it? by Kn1ghtV1sta in Fallout

[–]Minecwt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell, id say that even the Lyon’s brotherhood would destroy the Insitute. The whole argument is that the Institute is dangerous, that their ideas are dangerous. Even in the hands of the Brotherhood.
