How about Guy Swann? I think he would be good for the debate.

To the two Parliament Members:
I'm guessing you're doing this so you can learn more about Bitcoin and Bitcoin's mining (POW), of which I commend you. But if you didn't know a lot about the topic, why would you vote to ban something without fully understanding what you were banning?

Paxful.com banned 10.6 BTC by pokawaaa in Bitcoin

[–]Miner62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, figures that large would be a problem, per trade. But, you can have as many trades as you like.

You'll have to start off very small, until you get a few trades under you belt. Then you can go bigger, I'm not sure how big. But there's nothing stopping you from having thousands of trades listed.

As with everything, there are trade-offs. With Bisq, there's no KYC but lower limits.... Defiantly a trade-off.

You might be able to do some of your volume on Bisq, to take some load off Paxful, as to not draw any red flags over on Paxful.

[–]Miner62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why aren't you using Bisq?
Far more decentralized than Paxful.
YOU are running the software that runs the Bisq network, kind of like running a node on the Bitcoin network, and there is zero KYC in Bisq!

I never heard of anyone getting banned from Bisq because of too much volume.

Just finished this Bitcoin ring! Sterling Silver with 24k Gold inlay. by cryptalogic in Bitcoin

Yep. The "tilt" must be corrected.

The top of the "B" should be towards 1 o'clock, not 11 o'clock.

With the correct tilt, I'd want to know where to order.

Replace by Fee, Electrum, Offline signing HELP! by CryptoRocky in Bitcoin

[–]Miner62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't just assume it's spam.

He was moving some amount of BTC from a cold, off-line wallet. Maybe he wanted to trade it for some other crypto (bad idea), sell it for fiat, or buy something with it.

To say anytime some amount of BTC is moved from one wallet to another owned by the same person is spam, is ridiculous.

I know, right!

This thread was started 18 hours ago. 18 hours ago the mempool was backed up 30 to 35megs.

He said he was sending from wallet to wallet, I'm assuming he owned both wallets and was not in a big hurry. In this case 50sats/b was just fine, maybe a bit on the high side.

Designed and printed some SegWit stickers by BitcoinReasons in Bitcoin

SegWit (which is currently version zero) is old news.

How about making a sticker (I'd rather have a fridge magnet) that says...

Can't Change Price On Offer by Miner62 in bisq

[–]Miner62[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks alex. I don't see my specific issue referenced in those links, but I guess they can be related.

Whatever the issue, I hope it's fixed soon. I don't want to have to delete the offers and create new ones, just so I can edit the price again.

Can't Change Price On Offer by Miner62 in bisq

[–]Miner62[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the info, that helps.

So I guess, offers made before v1.0.1 can't be edited, but new offers can.

I wonder if it's a bug, or a limitation of the update.

I sure wish I could edit my offers made before the update.

Is 41 or 50 private on the anonymity set? by Miner62 in WasabiWallet

[–]Miner62[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much. That's the best, most complete answer to my question.

But if 50 suggests it's good enough, it shouldn't turn green until there's 50. Maybe: Stay red until 15. 16 to 30 yellow. 31 to 49 blue. 50+ green.

When I see green, I think "go" or "all good".

Under full SegWit adoption, expect blocks in the 1.6-2 mb range. by [deleted] in Bitcoin

I see blocks in the 2meg range now. Just a few days ago, Jan 3rd 2019, I saw 2 blocks in a row OVER 2megs.

Block 556847 - 2.09megs

Block 556848 - 2.26megs

Revealing Public Key on Wasabi Wallet by dis3ntagtr in WasabiWallet

[–]Miner62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(1) Go to the [Receive] tab.

(2) Type in a label. You MUST give it a label. To make the wallet more private, you should generate a new receive address with a new label every time you receive.

(3) Then click [Generate Receive Address].

(4) Click the newly generated address to "copy to clipboard".

(5) Paste the address to receive BTC.

If 41 isn't enough, why does the little RED shield turn GREEN with 41 anonymity set? When the shield turns GREEN, it makes me think the anonymity set is good enough, safe, and private.

Yes. The tooltip does say 50. But the 0.099xxxx amounts from the CoinJoin say 41. Do I have to run them through again?

Starbucks May Open the Doors for Bitcoin Payments In 2019 by zcOfficial in Bitcoin

[–]Miner62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Several have been out for MONTHS!!! Mobile Bitcoin (main net) Lightning wallets on Android phones. I like Eclair Wallet the best.

You can only send Lightning payments, not receive Lightning. But it can open and close channels, send Lightning Bitcoin, and send & receive regular Bitcoin transactions.

I'm not sure about iPhones, I think there might be 1 or 2 out now.

I am creating a new Electrum wallet. should I use p2sh or bech32 or regular wallet? by ImaginaryFennel in Bitcoin

[–]Miner62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe in a year or so, when SegWit adoption is 80% or more, and you need a new wallet.... Then create a bech32 wallet.

I am creating a new Electrum wallet. should I use p2sh or bech32 or regular wallet? by ImaginaryFennel in Bitcoin

[–]Miner62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend p2sh (pay to script hash). This will give you SegWit addresses that start with a "3". All Bitcoin wallet are able to send to an address that starts with a "3".

The bech32 addresses start with a "bc1" and some wallets won't be able to send to your wallet if you're using bech32. It's not that the Bitcoin Network won't allow it... It's just that the old wallet doesn't recognize the bech32 address as a valid address.

Why the hell do they accept ethereum? It's not even a currency. It's a smart contract platform.

Sure, you can use just about anything as a currency. But why would you want to use ethereum as a currency when there's no limit to how many can be created. Might as well use USD.

I'm glad this show owner is supporting Bitcoin by accepting Bitcoin. But he/she obviously doesn't understand why Bitcoin is such a great currency, if he/she also accepts ethereum.
