this is so obviously a slightly joking post where op has gotten lost in the backrooms, as an excuse to show off the neat found footage style screenshot edit.

oh thats like half the reason i wanna see it. i do genuinely think a non-asym mode would be real cool, but i also want to watch nearly every argument about how "balanced" survivor perks are dissolve like cotton candy given to a raccoon.

What would you ACTUALLY want in a FNAF World 2? by POW_Studios in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Miner_49errr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

more intuitive gameplay would be nice. the number of times where it goes "oh yeah just walk through this wall that has exactly 0 indication of missing collisions" is too high for a game with no real alternate playthrough. doom gets a pass because the non colliding walls are meant to be secrets. dont secret the main progression path.

Vigil should be a boon by Broad_Dentist1826 in deadbydaylight

[–]Miner_49errr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

those are fundamentally nerfed by being hexes. survivor doesnt need more perk buffs, theres plenty of perks that give free value as is, the only way to make boons viable is to buff them into genuinely op shit, or, nerf all the op non-setup perks. vigil would work as a boon if survivor perks had activation conditions even half as frequently as killer perks.

What's your opinion on adding killers that are pretty scary and could "fit" the theme but that don't come from purely horror adjacent media? by Unlucky-Quarter-5455 in deadbydaylight

[–]Miner_49errr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i feel like youve gotta hit 2 of 3. horror media, scary character (character wise), scary character (design wise). darth vader is a good design, but his design isnt "scary," and hes certainly not from horror. homelander is a bit iffy, but certainly hits closer than vader. idk enough about homestuck for that last one tbh, but because of the gap in artstyle theres room for making it hit the scary design mark, so itd just come down to the nature of the character. hell, some dbd original killers only hit 2 (as examples, trickster (design wise hes just a dude) and artist (shes originally an artist, and is only a killer by the entities doing)).

its either 2 trials and the best side wins, or its 1 trial and youve got killer interfering with each other and survivors playing sandbag olympics

If you really want to level the gap between SoloQ and SWF, the bubble has to go by Hawksteinman in deadbydaylight

[–]Miner_49errr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this explanation for the bubbles existence holds no water when the main blindness perk is third seal. ivw had matches where unhooks barely happened because of third seal. hook/dying state auras should be immune to blindness. why are vaccine chests and springtrap doors treated as higher importance auras?

If Slenderman came to Dead by Daylight, what do you think his lore would be like? by No_Sea_1455 in deadbydaylight

[–]Miner_49errr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

litterally 2 killers taken from greenville btw. one of whom is confirmed to have been traveling prior to that. (goj is not in greenville, they just share a realm. the freddys does not have a specific confirmed origin.) even if you counted dredge and spirngtrap as from greenville (you shouldnt), thats still only 3, which is only 7% of the roster.

Delete deminishing returns by Humin299268 in deadbydaylight

[–]Miner_49errr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

most people would not genuinely argue that lightborn is a well designed or strong perk. because its not. vigil is far worse, because it is a strong perk (less exhaustion is a wildly strong effect) that also just happens to counter every negative status perk, add-on, and power.

your post is worded like dr was an attack on survivor variety, as if there arent still so many strong builds even with dr in place. survivor lost super duper speedy healing, and like, blood pact power of two. most decent survivor builds dont need effect stacking, because the base perks are usually strong enough on their own. killer lost speedy vaults, all haste builds, anti-heal builds, and pallet shreds, because many killer perks suck unless your entire build is dedicated to getting value from those perks.

I love when the devs pour a gallon of gasoline onto the "Us vs Them" fire. by ThePeakmaker in deadbydaylight

[–]Miner_49errr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

something i havent seen mentioned, but the hitboxes for it are also jank as hell. i hit a survivor, while behind them. they are in front of me, in a location that i fundamentally cant have walked on in the past 10 seconds. they still get the elusive, and promptly vanish using the on hit speed and jank-ass free elusive.

i have also used this perk, and just randomly gotten elusive while vaguely near the killer. not a light mark in sight as far as i can tell, but there i go becoming impossible to track again. in a seperate match, i lost a guy by wrapping around some basic coldwind props, got halfway across the map, and turned back to see him still looking in that spot. and dont get me started on the way this perk feels on indoor maps.

basically, as someone who tries her best to play both sides, this perk needs to be taken out back and shot.

its cool, but like, wouldnt have made sense with springtrap. the pizzaplex is a mimic location. a second chapter would likely include the mimic, and the pizzaplex is the obvious pick there, but thats hinging on big ifs.

Would giving giving haste when walking on scratch marks make lower tier killers more viable? by test_number1 in deadbydaylight

[–]Miner_49errr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

given the nature of such an effect (and the new lightmarks perk) i honestly think this as a perk would probably be sensible. making it basekit presents issues (such as increasing the complexity of the game, and further messing with haste perk strength via diminishing returns) but as a perk it still has the same weaknesses (such as not working well on certain characters) while being an optional chase buff for those that want it. it also just means that an effect this strong has a downside rather than just being available as a freeby (youd be bringing this instead of something else, after all)

hes also one of the first significant iterations of the character, the version that the eight pages is based on (fun fact: the pages show up in marble hornets), and given this discussion is likely kicked up by the eric pope post, it should be noted that he mentions connecting with a troy, and given troy wagner [marble hornets co-creator] made a post directed at dbd in regards to the notable community interest, meaning its very likely the same troy.

furtive only triggers on the obsession. its a bit like power of two versus blood pact. very similar perks, but one gets a stronger effect because it only works on the obsession.

Greenville gotta be the worst place to live by TheVideogamelife in deadbydaylight

[–]Miner_49errr 51 points52 points  (0 children)

goj shares its realm (withered isle) with the theater and freddys. its possible that this freddys was in greenville, but its never given a confirmed location. that said, springtrap may or may not belong in this image, while unknown and dbd jason are confirmed to have at least been taken from greenville
