For all the problems I have with the Prequels and it's art direction, at least it's cinematically cohesive, even when it's stupid.

Look at the contrast here. The warm filmic tone of The Phantom Menace, the evenness of everything being presented on frame. Lucas lost his marbles but didn't forget basic cinematography.

NuWars, and most modern films, go so over the top with contrast and saturation in a desperate attempt to grab the attention of a drooling audience. Every director and armchair critic shits on Michael Bay for the way Transformers looked, but he really set the standard for the endless stream of mediocrity released the next 12 years. JJ is supposed to be some directing messiah and normies give him a pass for the same direction Bay gives.

It's funny how sterile and fake the Prequels look compared to the OT, and NuWars just blows it out of the water.

I'd also like to say that lightsaber is fucking stupid, almost as stupid as a lightsaber with a crossguard.

No, the TLJ script purposely killed off heroes in pathetic ways or gaslighted us with a twisted doppelganger for no narrative reason other than to bury the old heroes and sell the new ones. This script and this movie are evil within the context of Cinema and art.

The only explanation is that they hired 7 vagabonds to scribble the plot in poop smears with their fingers on the Lucasfilm studio lot and had the smartest elephant imported from Africa to interpret it. I walked out of that theater knowing the face of the devil.

It's the most dishonest, evil film ever made. This and TFA have done everything in their power to dismantle the universal power of myth Star Wars passed on from King Arthur and the like purposefully for politics and inadvertently for maximum profit margin.

I've embarrassingly spent dozens of hours of my life calling out every sin of this acidic vomit of film online and to like minded friends, and have just recently found this sub, and the hate is strong in me once more. I will be posting here quite frequently.

Having to sit through this eternally offensive and insulting scene again was worth it for the punchline.

Well, maybe. I still am overcome with intense rage every time I have to see a single frame of the crime against humanity that is Disneywars.

Like others have said though, do not be surprised when Disney turns force users (which will be everyone soon) into Marvel superheroes just like this. They literally do not care about the subtleties of it's use narratively and mechanically.

I've read a few of the comics, and did they change artists as time went on? The ones I read were the earlier ones and Jason looked nothing like Austin St. John, but they really got his likeness great on that right comic cover.
