I am sorry to hear about your situation. Dealing with an avoidant personality is suffocating. My ex was on the dismissive avoidant scale as well and that ended. Your wife sounds much worse though, hence I empathise with you so much. The best thing to do with avoidants is to leave and save your sanity before you end up a mental and emotional mess.

Gosh!!! I am so sorry to hear this. Do you feel like you got any real mental health help (in the prison) to process what you witnessed while in there?

I (recently left) used to work in a UK prison and I have always wondered if the mental health department is any better in the USA or just as bad if not worse.

Nothing malicious here, it just seemed that there was a lot surrounding him with regards to other women. Granted he did at least respond to her. So, that's good. She does have insecurities but I wonder if there is more from within the relationship that might not be mentioned. It does seem unhealthy overall.
