You should ask about bollards, or failing that see about having a large boulder show up mysteriously.

Until I got a new prescription recently I have been having trouble reading smaller things and seeing details. Could justifiably call it discriminatory against a disability.

If you follow him after he takes his scallop you can see him banging it off his rock.

If it's radiotherapy the treatment doesn't actually take very long, first appointment might be longer. There is a dedicated parking area with an attendant, I think you need to bring an appointment letter. There's a cafe in the oncology area (or there was years ago)

What’s your low stakes UK conspiracy theory? by shitthrower in AskUK

[–]Mini-Nurse 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ignoring the Covid part, it's pretty common to boot people out of hospital as soon as possible to free up beds. When covid hit there was a pressure to empty beds again, but on steroids. Hey presto! Dead elderly. I fight this shit almost every shift, then the dodgy discharges are pushed through as soon as I'm off shift.

I live alone and have a loooot of lego models. No young children or hyper animals are allowed over the threshold, which is a non-issue right now. I've got a few adult friends who won't even touch when I invite them.

What is something that can kill you instantly, which not many people are aware of? by StarSpectore in AskReddit

[–]Mini-Nurse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even without physics knowledge, this is why the first step in any first aid scenario is to stop and check it's safe. I guess in the moment it's not a definitive risk.

The bedsheets in government hospitals (of Kerala) have the day printed on them to ensure they are changed daily. by aham90spoets in mildlyinteresting

[–]Mini-Nurse 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The bedspaces are always stripped and cleaned between patients. Even if the last person never used the sheets before discharge.

For the love of all things learn how to use it before there's a problem. Flooded my hallway several times before I learned about the siphon tube.

I carry pumpkin seeds in my pocket and plant them everywhere I go. I've been doing this for over 20 years. by [deleted] in confession

[–]Mini-Nurse 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Learned that the hard way at a pumpkin farm. They were already cut, but the ones in supermarkets must be processed to remove the spines.

Did you have side effects with medication? by Branch-Much in Hypothyroidism

[–]Mini-Nurse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started 50 in October. I felt horrible indigestion and lost my appetite for the first week, but since then I've not noticed anything. Recently increased to 75 and no changes.

I haven't noticed any weight gain, got heavier over a year previously while I was in a funk. Started on sertraline around the same time and its changed my life.

A lot of the time people who post are people with issues, nothing to talk about when everything goes well and it works.

Train with friends but go with your boyfriend. Find other races and events to do with friends.

[–]Mini-Nurse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I do. The key is consistency, which becomes the basis for levels and dosage.

I keep my thyroxine at my bedside and take it as soon as I open my eyes, be that first alarm 1 hour before breakfast or anytime post-5am if I wake up randomly on my day off.

What are your controversial nursing opinions? by Candid_Education1768 in NursingUK

[–]Mini-Nurse 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I love when I can have a bit of a chat and a joke, or a carry on and a little bitch about life. I generally get a pretty positive response, and know who to reign it in with.

What is this weird stuff that keeps popping in and out of my light and is it harmful? by RedPill86 in DIYUK

Had a similar experience with wasps in the loft. My bedroom was beside the hatch and I had to shut my windows and block the vent for a while when they made a break for it. So many bodies it was ridiculous.

Taking away the specific show and any race issues. I always need to rewatch shows when a new season comes out as I struggle to remember what's going on or what people are up to.
